Personally, I don’t like a lot of surnames for girls, most of mine are quite common. But what are the best in your opinion?
Good question! It’s like you’re a mind-reader because I have been thinking about this too!
[name]One[/name] of my faves is [name]MacKenzie[/name]. I also just discovered [name]Darcy[/name] and [name]Darby[/name] and they made me wonder more about surnames and place names. [name]Harper[/name] is another one that came to mind. I’m mostly just curious about what names other berries have to add!
[name]Cullen[/name] is my favorite surname, and no, not because of Twilight I used to have a good friend with this as his first name, and I always thought it was the coolest thing, way better than [name]Collin[/name], which is super popular where I’m from.
I also love [name]Mackenzie[/name] on boy, but without the capitalized K. I’m not really sure why. [name]Lewis[/name], from C.S. [name]Lewis[/name], one of my favorite authors- I’m totally in love with that one and thinking of [name]Clive[/name] as a middle name. [name]Parker[/name] is really cute and my brother’s name is [name]Jordan[/name], so I kind of have to like that one. Oh, and my brother’s best friend is named [name]Hunter[/name], which I’m really sad about since now it’s very unusable.
For girls, I like [name]Seeley[/name] for sure, one of my favorites. [name]Collins[/name] and [name]Duffy[/name].
Totally spaced and forgot [name]Blaine[/name] and [name]Adair[/name], both of which are in my signature!
I tend to not like surnames for girls, but I do like [name]Bellamy[/name], [name]Harper[/name], and [name]Quinn[/name]. I prefer [name]Auden[/name] on a boy, but I like it for a girl too. I think surnames are a lot better than straight up boys’ names on girls. [name]James[/name] and [name]Mackenzie[/name] (means “son of [name]Kenzie[/name]/[name]Kenneth[/name]”) are completely unsuitable for girls, in my opinion.
I actually love [name]Mackenzie[/name] for a boy- I think [name]Mack[/name] and [name]Ken[/name]/[name]Kenzie[/name] are great for boys, and it’s such a shame to me that the name has been so thoroughly feminized!
I agree with a lot of this.
I do like [name]Kennedy[/name] on a girl though, but the meaning is so awful.
I wouldn’t use a surname as a first myself (with the exception of [name]Blythe[/name]), but that doesn’t stop me liking some of them…

I’m not a huge fan of surnames, especially for girls, but there are a few I like. [name]Winslet[/name], [name]Morgan[/name], [name]Darcy[/name], [name]Delaney[/name] and [name]Piper[/name] spring to mind. I like [name]Grey[/name] as a middle name, and [name]Austen[/name] for [name]Jane[/name] [name]Austen[/name].
I think the best surnames are the ones that come from your family tree.
