(Having 2 Ys so close to each other looks messy to me.)
Personally, I like Whalen like [name_u]Lindsay[/name_u] Whalen the point guard for the Minnesota [name_m]Lynx[/name_m]. 
I think the best spelling you’ve listed for this name is [name_m]Waylen[/name_m]. It’s the more intuitive of the four in my opinion, and also, the cleanest and smoothest in appearance (for me, the Y’s make it look super awkward and untidy).
[name_m]Waylen[/name_m]. I don’t like 2 Ys in a name, it looks sloppy. Weylyn/[name_m]Weylen[/name_m] look like WEE-len not [name_m]WAY[/name_m]-len.
