[name]Just[/name] came across what i believe is one of the CUTEST b/g twin sets ever.
[name]Flora[/name] & [name]Fox[/name]
Now, no way will I be needing another set of twin names, so maybe someone else out there can use this combo! It’s just too sweet for words.
What are some of your favorite twin combos?
[name]Do[/name] you like matchy-matchy? Same first letter (like the combo above)? Same number of syllables? Same number of letters? Or anything goes (this is what we went with)?
I know identical girl twins called [name]Sophie[/name] and [name]Clara[/name]…I love their names together.
Also my friend has fraternal twins, [name]Eleanor[/name] ([name]Ellie[/name]) and [name]Edward[/name], lovely names but don’t like matching initials for twins!
[name]Sophie[/name] and [name]Clara[/name] are beautiful together - kudos to their parents for picking those ones out, out of the slew of missy names out there!
I didn’t think I liked matching initials for twins either - in fact we were ambivalent with our possible b/g combo of [name]Everett[/name] and [name]Eloise[/name] - but there has to be something said about matching initials, it is pretty sweet. Maybe i like them better on b/g twins since they have other obvious differences about them. But I dunno - I just know I’m just lusting over [name]Flora[/name] & [name]Fox[/name]!
I know right, I was so impressed when I found out their names!
[name]Flora[/name] and [name]Fox[/name] are really cute together.
Are your twins [name]Wren[/name] and [name]Eloise[/name]? They are really gorgeous names!
[name]Flora[/name] and [name]Fox[/name] are really cute, but that’s more because of [name]Flora[/name] (flowers) and [name]Fox[/name] (fauna) for me. I don’t like same initial twin names at all.
A part of me has always thought that I would do the opposite of matching–a multi-syllabic name paired with a monosyllabic name. I’ve always liked [name]Blair[/name] and [name]Aurelia[/name]. Of course, this is all way, [name]WAY[/name] in the future for me, so I just like tossing them around, name freak that I am.
Honestly, I don’t really like [name]Flora[/name] and [name]Fox[/name] together. They seem like two different styles to me. [name]Flora[/name] is sweet and old fashioned, [name]Fox[/name] is punchy and modern. But that’s just my opinion. I know a set of twins named [name]Nora[/name] and [name]June[/name], and I think that is so impossibly sweet. My current favorite hypothetical twin sets are [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Sylvie[/name], and [name]Max[/name] and [name]Levi[/name]
via29 - yes, our twins or [name]Wren[/name] & [name]Eloise[/name], or [name]Birdie[/name] & [name]Lola[/name] who they go by 75% of the time.
caroeliese - interesting point about the flora & fauna correlation - maybe that’s why I’m so drawn to the combo. [name]Fox[/name] & [name]Flora[/name] just seem to roll so nicely together, and maybe I am feeling that way because of the similar [name]Fauna[/name] & [name]Flora[/name]. Cool thought!
Ps: [name]ADORE[/name] [name]Blair[/name] and [name]Aurelia[/name] together - like love, love love them! Although so completely different in style (spunky & frilly), they still fit seemlessly together. I kind of like the opposing “styles” for twins though, which I guess explains our choice of [name]Wren[/name] & [name]Eloise[/name] (modern & classic).
spacecow - to each their own I guess! I completely see what you mean about them being different styles, but as said above, i think thats why i love them together! As for [name]Nora[/name] and [name]June[/name], stunning combo! [name]Rose[/name] & [name]Sylvie[/name] and [name]Max[/name] & [name]Levi[/name] are also great! The girls are feminine and strong, and the boys are rough & tumble - perfect combinations!
Any other twin combos you nameberries are interested in? Either real life, or in your fantasy world?
I know twins called [name]Claire[/name] and [name]Louisa[/name], I think they’re beautiful and really well matched! [name]Flora[/name] and [name]Fox[/name] are lovely together, though [name]Fox[/name] isn’t something I’d choose at all.
[name]Flora[/name] and [name]Fox[/name] is adorable! I usually figure I’ll just use my top choice/top two choices if I ever have twins, depending on gender, lol, so it would likely be [name]Isabelle[/name] and [name]Arianne[/name], [name]Isabelle[/name] and [name]Caleb[/name], or [name]Caleb[/name] and [name]Jack[/name] for me. But there are a few twinsets I really like (some of which are quite matchymatchy… urgh):
[name]Eliza[/name] and [name]Elliot[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name] and [name]Oscar[/name]
[name]Isabelle[/name] and [name]Avery[/name] (boy)
[name]Isabelle[/name] and [name]Henry[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name] and [name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name] and [name]Clara[/name]
[name]Isabelle[/name] and [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] and [name]Annabel[/name]
I think [name]Bella[/name] and [name]Maggie[/name] are adorable together, too–maybe something like [name]Isabelle[/name] and [name]Margot[/name]/[name]Arabella[/name] and [name]Magdalena[/name]/[name]Annabel[/name] and [name]Magnolia[/name]…
I really do like [name]Flora[/name] and [name]Fox[/name].
My new favorite idea for girl/girl twins is using a first name that is a nickname for the other twins middle name.
My favorite combo for sentimental reasons would be:
[name]Meg[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
But for sound only:
[name]Nora[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name]
And for boys, i’d probably just use my favorites.
[name]Flora[/name] and [name]Fox[/name] is a lovely pair, it makes me think of a brand someone would choose for their kid’s organic stuff line.
[name]Nora[/name] and [name]June[/name] is impossibly sweet, I agree.
Personally I have yet to find a great pair of twin names myself, because all twin names I know are too matchy.
I think what works for me is the style similarity, for example, I love [name]Julian[/name] and [name]Dominic[/name]; [name]Julian[/name] and [name]Vincent[/name]; [name]Julian[/name] and [name]Eloise[/name]; [name]Julian[/name] and [name]Beatrix[/name]; [name]Beatrix[/name] and [name]Willa[/name].
I think [name]Flora[/name] and [name]Fox[/name] are beautiful together.
I like -
[name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Sophie[/name]
[name]Clara[/name] and [name]Mary[/name]
[name]Virginia[/name] and [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Sadie[/name] and [name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]James[/name] and [name]Emmett[/name]
[name]Andrew[/name] and [name]William[/name]
[name]Thomas[/name] and [name]Henry[/name]
I know quite a few sets of twins. My cousins are 10 now, and called [name]Kate[/name] and [name]Emma[/name]. I think it just flows so well! Some others I know are:
[name]Matthew[/name] & [name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Alexander[/name] & [name]James[/name]
[name]Sophie[/name] & [name]Amy[/name]
[name]Flora[/name] and [name]Fox[/name]; oh my goodness perfection!
[name]Love[/name] the styles! Thanks for sharing that!
I really like matching first initials, but other combos sometimes sound even better.
I’m really liking [name]Honor[/name] & [name]Everly[/name], [name]Finnegan[/name] & [name]Jack[/name], and [name]Freya[/name] & [name]Walker[/name].
I came up with [name]Zenobia[/name] and [name]Isadora[/name] the other day for G/G twins. These frilly, ancient names mean ‘gift of [name]Zeus[/name]’ and ‘gift of [name]Isis[/name]’, respectively, and are connected that way. [name]Both[/name] have the tomboy/spunky nicknames of [name]Zen[/name]/[name]Zenna[/name]/[name]Noa[/name] and [name]Isa[/name]/Izzi/Zadi.
For me, same initials don’t matter as much as first syllable. [name]IMO[/name], the style should be ‘so opposite it matches’ or the same. For example:
[name]Jayden[/name] and [name]Jamie[/name]: [name]Both[/name] start with [name]JAY[/name]. [name]One[/name] is 2010s trendy and the other is 70s-80s trendy.
[name]Joseph[/name] and [name]Julia[/name]: [name]One[/name] starts with [name]Jo[/name], the other Ju. [name]Both[/name] are perennial classics.
[name]Jax[/name] and [name]James[/name]: I love this combo (in theory; I could never bring myself to use [name]Jax[/name]). To me, it just works.
My favorite twin set I know in real life are teens named [name]Olivia[/name] and [name]Evelyn[/name]. Gorgeous, classic names starting with vowels. [name]Both[/name] have a v and an L. Naming perfection
Not crazy about [name]Fox[/name], but paired with [name]Flora[/name] it has a nice ring to it.
Personally, I think the best twin names are [name]Charles[/name] and [name]Hugo[/name]. The names compliment each other so beautifully. If I ever have twin sons (which would be a long shot to hope for since I have absolutely no twins in my near family), I’d love to name them [name]Charles[/name] [name]Archibald[/name] Elrohir and [name]Hugo[/name] [name]James[/name] Elladan.
I once stumbled across such a lovely sibset here on Nameberry - [name]Asa[/name] and [name]Alexandria[/name] - and I haven’t been able to get over it ever since. I think that would make such a handsome boy/girl twin set.
I am currently trying to figure out names for the twins I am currently expecting! LOL! I really like them!!! I like matchy with his or her siblings. Right now I’m trying to figure out [name]Little[/name] [name]Man[/name] and [name]Little[/name] Lady’s name. [name]Flora[/name] and [name]Fox[/name] are freaking adorable and slightly aDORKable;) haha. I’ve always loved this set of twin boys that [name]True[/name] has grown up with, their names are [name]Finn[/name] and [name]Jude[/name]. They are the sweetest things ever, and they have a little sister name [name]Elle[/name]. Also there is a set that goes to preschool with [name]Lottie[/name] named [name]Waverly[/name] and [name]Wyatt[/name] which I always thought were adorable:)
My favorite twin sets for girls are [name]Scarlett[/name] & [name]Juliet[/name] (nicknames [name]Scout[/name] and [name]Jet[/name]), [name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Madeleine[/name], [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Sage[/name], and [name]Waverly[/name] and [name]Kirrily[/name]. [name]One[/name] thing I’m fanatical about for twins is probably the same syllable count. It seems more balanced to me. For boys I like [name]Phineas[/name] and [name]Ozias[/name] (Finny and [name]Ozzie[/name]). I don’t have any combos put together for boy/girl.
