Best way to use Margaret

[name]Hi[/name] Berries,
Our baby is due in less than 2 weeks - and while we are expecting it to be a boy, you just never know - so I’m finalising our girl name just in case. First name will definitely be [name]Clara[/name] and I’d like to honour my grandmother by using her middle name [name]Margaret[/name], but I’m not sure about flow and am open to suggestions of variations on [name]Margaret[/name]. I also need a second middle (one syllable) as girls in our family have 2 middles. I’m considering [name]Jane[/name] or [name]Eve[/name] at the moment, but again, the flow isn’t working for me so some alternatives there would be great. Before we were told it was a boy I had [name]Clara[/name] [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Jane[/name] as an almost definite girls name, but I think it would be nice to use [name]Margaret[/name] somehow if I could.

[name]Clara[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] (something about the repeated ‘ar’ sound just doesn’t seem to work)
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Margo[/name] (same again)
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Maisie[/name]
[name]Clara[/name] …???

[name]How[/name] about [name]Pearl[/name]? [name]Margaret[/name] means [name]Pearl[/name] and it gives you a one syllable name so that you can use something else.

[name]Clara[/name] [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]?

Ooh, I like that. I had never considered [name]Pearl[/name] and I’d get to keep [name]Matilda[/name] that way…thanks for the great suggestion!

I don’t think [name]Clara[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Jane[/name] is horrible…but maybe the flow isn’t the best.

You could use any of these in place of [name]Margaret[/name];

[name]May[/name]/[name]Mae[/name]
[name]Daisy[/name]
[name]Greta[/name]
[name]Meg[/name]

[name]Clara[/name] [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Mae[/name]
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Daisy[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Greta[/name] [name]Jane[/name]

You could consider [name]Clara[/name] [name]Jane[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] as well, or even [name]Clara[/name] [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]…I know it doesn’t have a one syllable name, but sometimes it’s good to break a little rules

There’s also [name]Gretchen[/name] and [name]Gretel[/name], if you want to avoid the [name]Mar[/name]- sound.

Thanks for the suggestions. I like the ‘[name]Matilda[/name] [name]Mae[/name]’ combo and [name]Clara[/name] [name]Jane[/name] [name]Margret[/name] does feel like it flows better with the names switched over, I’m not stuck on needing the one syllable middle at the end, so definitely open to moving the names around if it makes the whole name flow better. I really, really like [name]Gretchen[/name] as a name but DH says no way…can’t win them all I guess

I like the flow of [name]Clara[/name] [name]Jane[/name] [name]Margaret[/name].

[name]Clara[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] sounds fine to me, but I say [name]CLAIR[/name]-uh [name]MAR[/name]-gret, not CLAR-uh mar-GUH-ret. I kinda skip that whole syllable, ha.

[name]Clara[/name] [name]Jane[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] is nice.

[name]Clara[/name] [name]Jane[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] & [name]Clara[/name] [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] are both gorgeous!

Thanks everyone, I think [name]Clara[/name] [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] is the one! It’s totally our style and fits all “wants” in a name…if only boys names were as easy…
