one that i am not a fan of is [name_f]Leann[/name_f], [name_f]Leah[/name_f], [name_f]Leandra[/name_f], & [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] –– too matchy
couple of my favorites:
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] & [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]
[name_u]Max[/name_u] & [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] (short for [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] & [name_f]Isabel[/name_f])
hardest to spell:
[name_m]Naphtali[/name_m], [name_m]Keeva[/name_m], and [name_m]Eliezar[/name_m]
I know siblings named [name_m]Miles[/name_m] and [name_f]Livia[/name_f]. That’s the best sibset I know.
[name_m]Gregory[/name_m], [name_m]Zachary[/name_m], [name_m]Nicolas[/name_m], and [name_u]Kasey[/name_u] (girl) are my cousins. I feel my Aunt and Uncle dropped the ball with their daughter.
My bestie is [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] with a brother named [name_m]Daniel[/name_m], how weird! They have a younger brother named [name_m]David[/name_m], another great biblical name. [name_u]Love[/name_u] their sibset.
Probably the worst sibset I’ve ever encountered was my another friend’s cousins. Her cousins are [name_m]Archer[/name_m], [name_m]Nash[/name_m] (g), & South (b). I just can’t imagine those in one sibset, their just so weird to me. I guess [name_m]Archer[/name_m] is okay, but [name_m]Nash[/name_m] and South?
We have the cutest fraternal twins in the preschool my school runs named [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] and [name_f]Emelia[/name_f]. They are so cute and by far my favorite kids in the class. That is the only adorable sibset I can think of off the top of my head.
I know twins named [name_m]Alec[/name_m] and [name_m]Matthew[/name_m], which I think go really well together. I also know siblings named [name_u]Michael[/name_u] “[name_m]Mike[/name_m]”, [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] “[name_f]Liz[/name_f]”, and [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] “[name_m]Matt[/name_m]”, which I think go great because they are all the same style and have a similar sounding one syllable nickname. A bad one is [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], and [name_m]Nolan[/name_m] because I think [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] does not go with her siblings names at all.
The good: [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], and [name_f]Fay[/name_f]
[name_m]Desmond[/name_m] and [name_u]Luca[/name_u]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_m]Marco[/name_m], and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
The not so good: [name_u]Blake[/name_u] and [name_m]Jake[/name_m]
[name_f]Adelyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Averie[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Addy[/name_f] and [name_f]Avie[/name_f])
I just met a family with four kids, [name_m]Gavin[/name_m], [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_m]Adlai[/name_m]…Where the heck did that come from?? Another that annoys me is [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] and [name_f]Samantha[/name_f], and yes this is real life. One of the best sibsets I’ve met was [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], and another was [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f].
I know of twin girls named [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], which I love. Neither name appeals to me particularly, but together I think they are pretty perfect. I also know sisters named [name_f]Alina[/name_f] and [name_u]Simone[/name_u], and I know the style is a little different, but I have always loved them together.
Some not so great ones that I know of:
[name_u]June[/name_u] and [name_m]Joel[/name_m]
[name_u]Jordan[/name_u] (girl) and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
A really great sibset I know has four boys: [name_m]Brian[/name_m], [name_u]Owen[/name_u], [name_m]Sean[/name_m], and [name_u]Michael[/name_u]. Another is an irish sibset: [name_m]Declan[/name_m], Mairin, [name_m]Eamon[/name_m], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], and [name_m]Quinlan[/name_m] (girl). A bad one I know is kids [name_u]Claude[/name_u], Claudenae, and Claudenique, with parents [name_u]Claude[/name_u] and [name_f]Claudia[/name_f]. I’m not kidding.
Hands down worst that I have encountered in real life was [name_u]Murray[/name_u], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_m]Peter[/name_m]. [name_u]Lucky[/name_u] [name_m]Peter[/name_m].
Some cool ones I have encountered:
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and Ism@y
[name_f]Jemima[/name_f], [name_m]Austin[/name_m] and [name_m]Felix[/name_m]
Mention to my great-granny and her siblings, who are so of their time (born late 19th century up to WWI) that I think practically all of their names sound soooo dated. But I think it’s a sign that they are in good style with each other! They were:
No clue where [name_f]Jacinth[/name_f] came from, but [name_m]Gurney[/name_m] was a family surname often used as a middle name (on both sides, 'cause my great-great grandparents were first cousins, awesome! Apparently only [name_m]Eric[/name_m] was a bit wrong in the head, so it didn’t work out too badly).
I can’t think of any terrible ones off the top of my head (and I would feel mean posting them in a public place) but here are some amongst my circle of friends that I really like:
I know siblings named [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] (girl) and [name_f]Arabella[/name_f], so mismatched [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. Other siblings named [name_u]Paris[/name_u], [name_m]Dublin[/name_m] and [name_m]Jordy[/name_m] and another sibset named [name_f]Rainey[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f], [name_f]Princess[/name_f]-[name_u]Lexi[/name_u] and [name_f]Skyla[/name_f]-[name_f]Belle[/name_f].
The best sibsets I know are…
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] & [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f] & [name_f]Esme[/name_f]
[name_m]Liam[/name_m], [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], [name_u]Jude[/name_u] & [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_u]Max[/name_u] & [name_f]Ava[/name_f]
The good:
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] & [name_m]Jack[/name_m]–I just think this is so adorable.
[name_m]Ethan[/name_m] & [name_f]Anabel[/name_f]
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] & [name_u]Michael[/name_u]
[name_m]Josiah[/name_m] & [name_u]Micah[/name_u]–Others may not like that they both have the “ah” ending, but I think they’re sweet together.
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m], [name_f]Zaida[/name_f], [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], [name_f]Lila[/name_f] & [name_f]Stella[/name_f]–Sweet and spunky mix I think.
The bad:
[name_m]Adrian[/name_m], [name_f]Asia[/name_f], [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] & [name_u]Devin[/name_u] (The first three are way to matchy for my taste, and that leaves [name_u]Devin[/name_u] seeming like the oddball)
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f] & [name_u]Bristol[/name_u] --[name_m]Just[/name_m] seem completely different style-wise
[name_f]Izabelle[/name_f], [name_m]Izaac[/name_m], & [name_f]Izadora[/name_f] --[name_m]Just[/name_m] no. I hate that they’re matchy but also can’t stand the “z” in there.
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] & [name_u]Paxten[/name_u] (g)–[name_u]Owen[/name_u]'s name has a soft sound, but I like it on it’s own. In contrast, [name_u]Paxten[/name_u]'s name seems “hard” or “harsh”, especially on a girl, and I don’t like it paired with the “soft” [name_u]Owen[/name_u].
[name_f]Alisha[/name_f], [name_m]John[/name_m], & [name_f]Bella[/name_f]–[name_f]Bella[/name_f] is much younger than the other two and is very trendy to me, especially since it’s just “[name_f]Bella[/name_f]”, not “[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]”. [name_f]Alisha[/name_f] (short “i” sound, not pronounced with the “e” sound, ie. not [name_f]Alesha[/name_f]) seems like it was probably trendy in the 90’s when she was born, and [name_m]John[/name_m] is a strong, traditional name, but probably “boring” compared to the other two.
Twin girls: [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] & [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_m]Jaymes[/name_m]
In general I don’t put too much stock into ‘sibsets’. I was on the losing side of the battle that was naming my son, and his future sibling’s names won’t match. [name_f]My[/name_f] parents apparently agreed, we’re [name_u]Brooke[/name_u], [name_f]Emily[/name_f] and [name_u]Evan[/name_u] (f).
That being said, I know and like the sound of…
[name_f]Willow[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] ([name_u]Josie[/name_u]), and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] ([name_f]Bea[/name_f])
[name_m]Desmond[/name_m] and [name_m]Silas[/name_m]
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_f]Bess[/name_f]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
These I don’t love as much together…
[name_f]Malika[/name_f] and [name_f]Leela[/name_f] (I would constantly be saying Maleela and Lika if they were mine)
[name_f]Corinna[/name_f], [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] and [name_f]Kaci[/name_f]
[name_f]Saundra[/name_f], [name_u]Tyler[/name_u] and [name_u]Angel[/name_u] (f)
[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t like :
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] & Chrisoula ( Poor Chrisoula. Their mother is expected her third, a little girl who are going to name Stavroula. [name_m]Way[/name_m] to matching with Chrisoula but all honors grandparents) .
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] & [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] ([name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] feels classy & [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] trendy. )
Somes I like :
[name_f]Mariana[/name_f] & [name_f]Eirini[/name_f] nn [name_f]Rena[/name_f].
Vasilis & [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f]
Aggelos, Vasilis & [name_f]Eugenia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Jenny[/name_f].
I recently interviewed for a nanny position with three boys…
[name_u]Carson[/name_u], [name_u]Carter[/name_u], and [name_u]Cardon[/name_u]. This is by far the worst sibset I have heard. (While I do like the names [name_u]Carter[/name_u] and [name_u]Carson[/name_u], all of them together is much to similar…)
Another one, I find mismatched is [name_m]Austin[/name_m], [name_u]Kyle[/name_u], [name_f]Eliana[/name_f], and [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m]. The last child’s name doesn’t fit at all…in my opinion.
[name_f]My[/name_f] grandma and her sisters are [name_f]Immacolata[/name_f], [name_f]Maria[/name_f], [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], [name_f]Caterina[/name_f] and [name_f]Stella[/name_f]. I think it is a nice sibling set, although I think they are all named for family members. Also have a set of first cousins (sisters) called [name_f]Maja[/name_f] and [name_f]Elli[/name_f] (Swedish names), and a set of second cousins (sisters) called [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and [name_f]Louise[/name_f], I think both of those work well as pairs. A friend babysat a trio of siblings named Isl@, [name_m]Frey[/name_m]@ and [name_m]Lars[/name_m], I thought that was gorgeous.
I have second cousins (brother and sister) called J@nelle and J@yden, I have always thought that was really bad. Fortunately they are lovely.
Other sets I have come across that aren’t really to my tastes-
[name_f]Valentina[/name_f] & Jacquelina
Lanetta & [name_f]Jeanetta[/name_f]
[name_m]Christian[/name_m] & [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
This is a pretty old thread but I recently met some siblings named [name_m]Carl[/name_m], [name_m]Carl[/name_m], and [name_f]Carline[/name_f]. Yes they really gave 2 kids the same exact name.
