Betsy?

Looking for opinions on the name [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] for a little girl? Thank you

I love it! I know two older ladies (50’s/60’s) named [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] and I think it is TOTALLY ready for a revival. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] as a longer name offers a nice, tailored formal option while [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] is spunky and lively.

I think [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] is adorable. I do find it a bit cutesy and prefer it as a nickname personally. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]. But that’s just my personal style.

I like it - and as a stand alone name! It’s cute but also funky and vivid

It still makes me think of a cow unfortunately. I like [name_f]Betty[/name_f] a little more - one of the best name announcements I’ve heard on nameberry was [name_f]Betty[/name_f] Nightingale.

It’s cute, but I’d only use it as a nickname – for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], most obviously, or another “[name_f]Bet[/name_f]” name, perhaps.

I love [name_f]Betsy[/name_f], but I would definitely use it as a nickname for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or maybe [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f].

I love it! Especially as a nickname for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].

I think it’s really nice as both a stand alone name or as a nickname (if a nickname I’d use it for [name_f]Bethan[/name_f] or [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]).
I don’t think it needs a full name though, [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] can definitely be used as it is.

I think [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] is adorable, and definitely due for a comeback with all the current vintage revival names.

I find it more appealing than [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Bethan[/name_f] and [name_f]Betty[/name_f]. And as others said, ready for a revival

Definitely retro-cool! I like it as a standalone name.

Definitely ready for revival!
I’m a big fan of traditional nickname names as full names
