What do you think about [name_f]Betty[/name_f] and [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] as names for a real baby born in 2024?
Is [name_f]Betty[/name_f] is enough of a stand alone name?
[name_f]Do[/name_f] we like [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f], something else, or as a stand alone?
Thinking about middle names [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Louise[/name_f].
[name_f]Betty[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Betty[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
Dorothy/Dolly [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
Dorothy/Dolly [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] other kids are [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] [name_m]Abel[/name_m] and [name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_f]Marion[/name_f]
I LOVE [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Dolly[/name_f]! [name_f]Adore[/name_f]! Iād say she goes perfectly with your childrenās names too!
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] are both gorgeous and classic. If it were me, Iād choose the DJ combo simply because of the possible nickname DJ from the initials! You canāt go wrong with either, though.
I like [name_f]Betty[/name_f] as well, definitely needs a revival now! Sheās got vintage charm and a very sweet vibe. [name_f]Betty[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] is adorable!
I have been loving both names for a while now.
Both [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Betty[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] are perfection.
I am so glad you think [name_f]Betty[/name_f] is ready for a come back!
I like [name_f]Betty[/name_f] - sweet but substantial, sparky and charming.
[name_f]Dolly[/name_f] is cute and sassy, and while it does rank in the UK, Iād probably keep it as a nickname - especially with [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] and [name_f]Frances[/name_f]!
[name_f]Betty[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] are nice!
(I also like [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] for Gwendolyn/en)
Anyways I do prefer [name_f]Betty[/name_f] sheās a family name for me so that just makes [name_f]Betty[/name_f] more appealing. [name_f]Betty[/name_f] is sweet, kooky and nostalgic. I also think [name_f]Betty[/name_f] feels more wearable.
However I think [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] is fun! I support a woman who has twin daughters around 10 years old named D0lly + P0llyanna. [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] (and P0llyanna) are common within the [name_f]Irish[/name_f] traveller community so [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] is wearable clearly itās a name that is used a lot within my fatherās community and I do love [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] [name_m]Parton[/name_m]. But I wouldnāt want to be called [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] personally. Still I think [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] is a fab nickname for [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] very nostalgic and warm.
Nicknames as first names are very much accepted as legitimate full names nowadays. People really do not bat an eye lid at a child named just [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]. I also live in the land of nicknames where itās actually surprising to have a child named [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] where this is a nickname for [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] rather than just [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]. People love a nickname name thereās tons of Evieās, Alfieās, Tommyās, Archieās and Lottieās around. However I think with your sibling set due to M@xwell and Fr@nces being formal with their more causal retro nicknames [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] āDollyā feels the most cohesive.
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] āDollyā is beautiful. I really love [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] sheās warm, cosy, has this pretty cottagecore imagery attached and I think works wonderfully with M & F.
[name_f]Dolly[/name_f] provides a fun southern charm and works well with their retro nicknames. [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is a smash hit. [name_f]Beautiful[/name_f] name.
I love the name [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]! [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] nn [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] gets my vote! It sounds so sweet, gentle and romantic. It would be perfect for Maxw3ll and Fr@ncesā little sister! [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] is a good name too! I prefer [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] as a nickname, but it would definitely work as a full name.
I can easily see it being used on a child born in 2024! Dorothy/Dolly are traditional names. Unexpected and underused nowadays, but I would love to see these vintage names coming back to the spotlight! [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] is similar to [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Willa[/name_f], [name_f]Birdie[/name_f], [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and other short āold-fashionedā names that are used nowadays. [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] shares a similar vibe with [name_f]Florence[/name_f], [name_f]Theodora[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and [name_f]Harriet[/name_f], for example.
I have a similar opinion about [name_f]Betty[/name_f]! I believe [name_f]Betty[/name_f] sounds classic because it is related to the timeless and admirable [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]! Iām actually not crazy about [name_f]Betty[/name_f] but I love many names that are quite similar and could be used as full names. I adore [name_f]Bethany[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Benedicta[/name_f], and of course, [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. I also adore [name_f]Belinda[/name_f], but I donāt think it works as a full name for [name_f]Betty[/name_f].
Your middle names are wonderful! [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] create a beautiful combo with [name_f]Betty[/name_f] and [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] or [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f].
From your list, I would go with [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] nn [name_f]Dolly[/name_f]!
[name_f]Betty[/name_f] was my husbands grandmothers name. That was her full name she was not an [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] so it feels like a full thought to me. I love it but I feel like it might be a love it or hate it find of name. Either you see the charm of it or you donāt.
I see [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Betty[/name_f] as clear sisters even though they sound like they are more likely to be 100 then under 5!
Thank you so much! I am glad you could see these names as being a name of a child born in 2024! [name_f]My[/name_f] goal for all of my kids names is that they could be born now or 100 years ago. I am really trying to avoid anything trendy or too tied to one certain generation!
I picked these middles specially so I could use a shortened version as a nickname much as āBetty Louā or āDolly Joā. I feel like like it is very endearing!
I have both [name_f]Betty[/name_f] + [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] in our family tree and I do see why you see [name_f]Frances[/name_f] + [name_f]Betty[/name_f] as sisters. Definitely sisters from a yonder years!! I really do like [name_f]Betty[/name_f] I just love [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] more
