I really love [name_m]Abel[/name_m] - its one of my favorite biblical names. I must admit I fell in love with it while watching [name_m]Son[/name_m]’s of Anarchy and it has stuck with me since. I like that it’s a biblical name, a virtue name and familiar while being underused ([name_f]IMO[/name_f]).

[name_u]Jude[/name_u]! And I don’t think it’s wrong in the least to name your child a biblical name. Especially since all of the ones you’ve listed (perhaps excepting [name_m]Abram[/name_m] and [name_m]Aaron[/name_m]) are well used and common; and have been for a long, long time : )

I can only choose one?? I voted for [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] because it’s at the top of my boys’ list. I like/love every name in the poll except for [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. I’ve got soft spots for [name_u]Jesse[/name_u], [name_m]Caleb[/name_m], and [name_m]Luke[/name_m].

I don’t think it matters that you aren’t religious; plenty of people give their children names from the Bible for reasons that have nothing to do with religion. [name_m]Just[/name_m] think of it like any other foundational work of western civilization; you wouldn’t think twice about naming your son after a Greek writer, English monarch, or [name_m]French[/name_m] philosopher, would you?

I do like [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] the best, but I feel like every other little boy I encounter is called [name_u]Sam[/name_u]/[name_u]Sammy[/name_u]/[name_m]Samuel[/name_m]. So I voted for [name_u]Jude[/name_u] today, but I love most of the names on your list.

I had a tie on [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] and [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. I think if [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] wasn’t always abbreviated to [name_u]Sam[/name_u] (in my acquaintances at least), it would win for me. I love that [name_u]Jude[/name_u] is strong and short.
I went to school with an [name_m]Eli[/name_m] and a [name_m]Reuben[/name_m], and neither of them were from religious families.

I love a lot of these, too! :slight_smile: [name_m]Caleb[/name_m]‘s my favorite boys’ name, so he’ll get my vote, but I have a huge soft spot for [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], [name_m]Jonah[/name_m], [name_m]Aaron[/name_m], [name_u]Jude[/name_u] (although I prefer [name_m]Judah[/name_m] lately), etc. [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] and [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] are definitely my two favorites, though!

I picked [name_m]Luke[/name_m], but to be honest I prefer [name_u]Luca[/name_u].
