We are closing in on the due date and still haven’t settled on boys or girls names (waiting to find out). We have 3 boys named [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m], [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_u]Steele[/name_u], and [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] with an Italian surname name pronounced Uh-mah-toh. Clearly we have an Old Testament theme going (never set out to do this, just liked the names), but I’m not crazy about most of remaining OT names that are left and am looking at expanding to NT names. I like international variations of the traditional biblical names and am really liking [name_m]Mattias[/name_m]/[name_m]Matias[/name_m] or [name_m]Matteo[/name_m]/[name_m]Mateo[/name_m] as alternatives to [name_m]Matthew[/name_m]. For middles, we are looking at [name_m]Sanders[/name_m] or [name_m]William[/name_m] because of family meaning. Can you help me with combos that you like using these names? On [name_m]Matteo[/name_m]/[name_m]Mateo[/name_m], do you see the -o ending as a problem with our surname? Thanks for your help.
I think that [name_m]Mateo[/name_m] is a lovely name but wouldn’t flow well with your surname. Combinations that I like are:
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_m]Matias[/name_m]
[name_m]Matias[/name_m] [name_m]Daniel[/name_m]
[name_m]Matias[/name_m] [name_m]Sanders[/name_m]
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Sanders[/name_m] (This is my personal favourite)
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] these helped. Good luck!
Actually, we already have 3 boys named [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m], [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m], and [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_u]Steele[/name_u]. Sorry if that wasn’t clear. Also, I completely forgot to mention that [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] is another consideration for a first name.
[name_m]Peter[/name_m]
[name_m]Phillip[/name_m]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]
[name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Joseph[/name_m]
[name_m]Timothy[/name_m]
I personally don’t like the o ending with the last name. Above are some nt choices that I like the way they sound with your last name
[name_m]Peter[/name_m] sanders
[name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m]
[name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] sanders
I love the name [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] and [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] [name_m]Mattias[/name_m] is beautiful. I think [name_m]Levi[/name_m] or [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] would also sound nice with the other boys.
I think [name_m]Matteo[/name_m] flows fine with your last name. Also I love [name_m]Gideon[/name_m]. I would use [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] if I were you, but don’t let the O endings stop you from using [name_m]Matteo[/name_m].
[name_m]Matteo[/name_m] Uhmahtoh reminds me of “tuh-may-toe, tuh-mah-toe.” No idea why. I prefer [name_m]Mattias[/name_m] with your boys’ names. [name_m]Mattias[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] or [name_m]Matteo[/name_m] [name_m]Sanders[/name_m] would get my vote.
ETA: [name_m]Just[/name_m] saw that you’re also considering [name_m]Gideon[/name_m]. I prefer [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] over both [name_m]Mattias[/name_m] and [name_m]Matteo[/name_m], especially after taking your boys’ names into consideration. [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] [name_m]Sanders[/name_m] Uhmahtoh would be so handsome.
Sorry I must have mis-read that! My fault!
I do like [name_m]Sanders[/name_m] for the middle name and other suggestions are:
[name_m]Moses[/name_m]
[name_m]Timothy[/name_m]
[name_m]Joab[/name_m]
[name_m]Job[/name_m]
[name_m]Samson[/name_m]
[name_u]Jericho[/name_u]
I think that [name_u]Jericho[/name_u] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] sounds great but with your last name [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] [name_u]Jericho[/name_u] would sound better.
i think with [name_m]Daniel[/name_m], [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], & [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] i would stick to the non-variant version of the OT/NT name. i also think [name_m]Matteo[/name_m] & [name_m]Matthias[/name_m] sounds off with your LN. i don’t mind [name_m]Gideon[/name_m]. my favorite biblical boy names are [name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], [name_m]Asher[/name_m], [name_u]Micah[/name_u], [name_m]Jonah[/name_m], & [name_m]Silas[/name_m]. I also like the place names [name_u]Jericho[/name_u] & [name_m]Canaan[/name_m].
I loooooove [name_m]Matteo[/name_m], but I think [name_m]Matteo[/name_m] Uh-mat-oh seems too singy-songy. I do love your other name choices, though
I agree. You might also consider [name_m]Moses[/name_m]. It’s one of my favorites but once [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] Paltrow used it, I just couldn’t. [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] is nice, though.
Edited for privacy.
I think [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Sanders[/name_m] would be lovely with [name_m]Daniel[/name_m], [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] and [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m].
