Billionaire/Mafia Siblings

Hi All

Really struggling at the moment

I have a 9 letter surname for my fictional billionaire family (with ties to the Italian Mafia). The surname is confirmed and will not be changing

I want each adult child name from a letter in the surname

Eg: Armstrong (not the actual surname - just an eg)

Archer, Rhodes, Madden, Skye, Thea, Raven, Onyx, Noelle, Gunner

> not in birth order

Archer - heir

Skye

Madden and Onyx - twins

Thea

Raven

Gunner

Noelle

Rhodes

5 boys - eg: The Armstrong Brothers

The 4 girls will be part of other siblings - other MMC / brother stories

is it too much for the parents to have 9 kids? I have read billionaire books where there are 6 siblings but never 9. I definitely have a set of twino (maybe even 2 sets of twins or even triplets) I’m torn whether to keep the siblings as 9 or split the siblings into cousins.

Option 1 - 9 siblings with eg: Madden and Onyx as twins (the twins stay)

Option 2 - 9 siblings with eg: Madden and Onyx as twins and Raven and Rhodes as twins

Option 3 - 9 siblings with eg: Madden, Onyx and Rhodes as triplets

Option 4

Father 1 - 5/6 adult kids

Father 2 - 4/3 adult kids

Father 1 and 2 are brothers

hmm, it’s definitely uncommon for anyone to have 9 kids, at least in the present. I could see a number of potential reasons for it, though. such as…

[name_f][/name_f]

the family has religious or cultural reasons to not use birth control or family planning
[name_f][/name_f]some of the children were adopted (either from outside the family or maybe a sibling/cousin of one of the parents died so they took in their children)
[name_f][/name_f]having such a big family was a dream for one of the parents, and since they have so much money, they made it happen

[name_f][/name_f]

I guess my takeaway is that you don’t often see people just having 9 kids on a whim? there’s usually another reason behind it. but I’m not sure that I would care what the reason is as long as there is one. if you still worry it might be too much, you can try the cousin solution and see if it works for your story.

I think having 9 siblings is totally fine, its a lot to narratively manage and fairly uncommon but it’s fun and believable to me. If it doesn’t feel right to you, though, then making them cousins could open up the world a little in an interesting way. Alternatively, you could justify it but having multiple sets of twins, cultural views or norms around children, adoption, or a blended family
