birth-order bewilderment

I’ve got problems.

Our top boy name is [name]Crispin[/name], Y middle name, with nn [name]Cy[/name]. There’s also [name]Vincent[/name], but he’s strictly younger brother material. If we have two boys, there’s no problem.
Our two girl names are neck-and-neck - [name]Imogen[/name] Dear (nn [name]Ginger[/name]) and [name]Mab[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]. [name]Imogen[/name] shares a namesake with [name]Crispin[/name] (my grandmother [name]Christine[/name] aka “Dear”) It seems odd to me to have two children named after the same relative, and [name]Imogen[/name] and [name]Crispin[/name] are a bit rhymey, so I’m unsure about these two as a pair. Seems to me they’d work in a three-kid family, but as a pair they’re maybe too matchy.

As it stands, if I were to give birth to an [name]Imogen[/name]/[name]Ginger[/name] and adopt a second girl (I may be starting ttc late) that adopted daughter would be named [name]Mab[/name] (if she were young enough to be renamed.) I love [name]Mab[/name], but it strikes me as a lot of otherness to put on an adopted kid. DH disagrees, citing the Mercutio speech about [name]Mab[/name] being “the fairies’ midwife,” riding in a hazelnut chariot drawn by sprites, filling people’s heads with dreams and desires. He thinks the name could be a link to the magical aspect of adoption, the child being this precious, dreamed-of gift from a mostly unknown source. I’m not so sure about his romantic notions.

What if… a third girl’s name were thrown into the mix?
[name]Beatrix[/name], nickname [name]Bette[/name] (prn “[name]Betty[/name]”) I have always loved [name]Bette[/name] but never thought of it for a child of my own. [name]Beatrix[/name] may be a bit trendier than my other choices (in the USA) but it’s a great name. It feels warm and familiar to me. My mother would be overjoyed about a [name]Beatrix[/name].

[name]Ginger[/name], [name]Bette[/name], [name]Cy[/name], [name]Vinny[/name]… vintage nickname heaven.

[name]Mab[/name] and [name]Imogen[/name]?
[name]Mab[/name] and [name]Crispin[/name]?
[name]Crispin[/name] and [name]Beatrix[/name]? or [name]Crispin[/name] and [name]Mab[/name]?
[name]Beatrix[/name] and [name]Imogen[/name]? (though if we had a boy after [name]Beatrix[/name], we’d be left without [name]Imogen[/name] OR [name]Mab[/name], which might break my heart)
[name]Beatrix[/name] and [name]Crispin[/name]? …Not too shabby, but… NO [name]IMOGEN[/name]/[name]GINGER[/name]?

Basically, my questions are:
I can’t use [name]Imogen[/name] first, can I?
[name]Do[/name] you think it’s odd to have different criteria for an adopted child’s name?
What are you’re favorite pairings of these four names? (excluding [name]Vincent[/name]) G/G, B/G, and G/B.
What do you think of [name]Beatrix[/name]? In general? In my sibset?
I need a middle for [name]Beatrix[/name] that’s [name]Margaret[/name]/[name]Maggie[/name]-related, or just [name]Margaret[/name]/[name]Maggie[/name].
Any other brilliant suggestions?

Confused? I know I am. Thanks for reading, beautiful Berries!

[name]Beatrix[/name] & [name]Mab[/name] or [name]Mab[/name] & [name]Beatrix[/name] for girls
So for B/G the boy is [name]Crispin[/name] nn [name]Cy[/name]? Maybe [name]Mab[/name] works best? I don’t think it matters who comes first.
[name]Imogen[/name] & [name]Crispin[/name] are too rhymey for me. Would they always be [name]Cy[/name] & [name]Ginnie[/name]?
I think all of the names work together so just use them in whichever order. If I were to be working from this list I would pick [name]Vincent[/name] over [name]Crispin[/name] and rank the girls name in this order; [name]Mab[/name], [name]Beatrix[/name], [name]Imogen[/name].
The adopted child thing I don’t think matters. Any of the names work & don’t feel so drastically different.

Really? [name]Beatrix[/name] and [name]Mab[/name]! Thanks Taz. It’s hard to know which names work next to magical [name]Mab[/name]. I was imagining I. & C. for their Shakespearean flavor, but I can see why [name]Mab[/name] and [name]Beatrix[/name] work with the two Bs. [name]Imogen[/name] and [name]Crispin[/name] would be [name]Ginger[/name] and [name]Cy[/name]… I don’t know how often they’d go by nicknames. Depends on what sticks I suppose. Maybe half or most of the time?
Thanks for your help.

I think all your names are charming! I don’t see anything wrong with the pairing of [name]Imogen[/name] and [name]Crispin[/name], they don’t strike me as overly matchy. I think so long as the daughter you adopt (if you do) is under 18months there isn’t anything wrong with the name [name]Mab[/name] for her. I personally prefer [name]Vincent[/name] to [name]Crispin[/name] but I like your girls names in the order you listed: [name]Imogen[/name], [name]Mab[/name] and then [name]Beatrix[/name].

Personally, I would choose [name]Vincent[/name] over [name]Crispin[/name] any day. And I would rank the girl names [name]Beatrix[/name], [name]Imogen[/name], and then [name]Mab[/name]. To each their own I guess! I also like PP’s mistake nickname, [name]Ginnie[/name], a lot better than your choice [name]Ginger[/name]. [name]Ginger[/name] reminds me of the Spice Girls. Haha! I like a lot of these names, but I don’t think they’re great as a sibset.

[name]Favorite[/name] pairings:
G/G: [name]Mab[/name] & [name]Beatrix[/name]
B/G: [name]Crispin[/name] & [name]Beatrix[/name]
B/B: [name]Crispin[/name] & [name]Vincent[/name]

[name]Beatrix[/name] is lovely, and I think it works with your other names, which I also love (all of them). For middles… my favorite would be [name]Margo[/name], [name]Margreta[/name], or [name]Marguerite[/name].

By the way, I am really loving [name]Mab[/name] after your question. Kind of tempted to consider it for myself.

Ajh: Thank you! It’s nice to hear that you think [name]Mab[/name] wouldn’t be over-the-top for an adopted daughter. I think [name]Crispin[/name] will probably keep his footing as the older brother name, because it’s got special family significance. And thanks for ranking the girls’ names.

[name]Kathryn[/name]: Hm… another vote for [name]Vincent[/name] before [name]Crispin[/name]… [name]Don[/name]'t think it’s going to fly, but thanks. If I had a [name]Beatrix[/name] and an [name]Imogen[/name] I’d have a [name]Bette[/name] and a [name]Ginger[/name]! Eeek! Fun fun fun. [name]Ginger[/name] doesn’t get enough love around here. I associate her with [name]Ginger[/name] [name]Rogers[/name], and I’m a huge [name]Fred[/name] and [name]Ginger[/name] fan. She’s all pin-curls and tap shoes to me, not Spice Girls.

Sansa: Thank you for the compliment. You’re welcome to use [name]Mab[/name], just keep it on the DL. [name]Crispin[/name] and [name]Beatrix[/name] are pretty fabulous and zesty together, I must admit. If I were to use [name]Mab[/name] and [name]Beatrix[/name] together, [name]Mab[/name] would get [name]Margaret[/name] as a middle name. I like the alliteration. So a [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name] would only work as a sister to [name]Imogen[/name] or [name]Crispin[/name]…

Anyone want to suggest other middles for [name]Beatrix[/name]? Family names to draw from: [name]Alexandra[/name], [name]Christine[/name], [name]Henry[/name], [name]Meline[/name], [name]Martin[/name]. Or something related to gardens (mother is a gardener.) Unusual herbal/botanical names might fit… along the lines of [name]Artemisia[/name], [name]Rosemary[/name], [name]Acantha[/name], [name]Acacia[/name]

Emmsie, love your threads!

About I & [name]Cy[/name]; I think [name]Imogen[/name] & [name]Crispin[/name] would make fabulous sister and brother. I really love them together, and it’s what I see as your children in the future (and little [name]Mab[/name] too of course). You and your husband look like [name]Cy[/name] & [name]Ginger[/name] parents.

About [name]Mab[/name] & adoption; I don’t think your husband is wrong, I see it as a very special and meaningful and magical name to bestow upon an adopted little girl. But I do see what you mean as well.

As far as not being able to name your first born [name]Imogen[/name]… Emms, c’mon. She’ll be born and she’ll have Ims written all over her face! If not she’ll be a [name]Mab[/name] (although I do really see this as the adorable little sister crying because she wants to start school when [name]Ginger[/name] does).

[name]Beatrix[/name] is beautiful, but it’s not as wonderfully quirky as the others. I can picture you, hubs, [name]Imogen[/name], [name]Mab[/name] and [name]Cy[/name] out in the forest picking berries, riding your bikes in Prospect [name]Park[/name], making apple cake in the kitchen. They’re all wearing corduroy and head scarves, and feather crowns chasing each other around the sitting room. [name]Beatrix[/name] sits on the sofa with her perfect little lace gloves, trying not to get dirty.

Sansa: Thank you! [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Rosemary[/name] and [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Harriet[/name] are serious contenders. I quite like [name]Linnea[/name] as a way to honor my mother, but husband isn’t having it. There’s a [name]William[/name] on his side- we could go straight to [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Wilhelmina[/name] for a full-on Dutch queen ripoff, but that’s a bit much. Really madly loving [name]Rosemary[/name] and [name]Harriet[/name] though… I’m going to let those steep in my mind a bit.

Otterpup: Your fantasy of my future family sounds like something out of a [name]Wes[/name] [name]Anderson[/name] movie. Yes, you’ve got us pegged - we’re big corduroy-wearers. I just had a chair reupholstered in ginger corduroy. [name]Do[/name] I give off a corduroy vibe?
Not sure I agree with you about a fussy [name]Beatrix[/name] in lace gloves. I see her as playful but strong. I like that [name]Beatrix[/name] contains “be” and “tricks!” I see [name]Beatrix[/name] as a little gum-snapping fast-talking smartypants, with pet rabbits of course. I think you’re probably right about [name]Mab[/name] being a younger sister. I know the mythical [name]Mab[/name] is supposed to be lithe and long but I imagine a [name]Mab[/name] being this round rosy little bundle of joy. Thanks for the reassurance about [name]Imogen[/name].

Another option (thanks for humoring me folks) is to come up with an alternate middle for [name]Imogen[/name] that honors someone on my mother’s side, or from my husband’s family. Dear and [name]Margaret[/name] are both from my paternal line. I hate to get rid of Dear because it’s sentimental, but it always gets mixed reviews… and doing so would clear the way for [name]Crispin[/name].

Middles for [name]Imogen[/name], honoring mother or husband’s family:

[name]Rosemary[/name]
Other interesting botanicals…
Something [name]Alexandra[/name]-related.
[name]Beatrix[/name]? [name]Beatrix[/name] shares [name]Alexandra[/name]'s X… and my mother has a thing for B. [name]Potter[/name]. DH says that together [name]Imogen[/name] and [name]Beatrix[/name] sound too British/proper.
But something X-heavy might work, because it’s my mother’s favorite letter.
Something [name]Meline[/name]-related. But [name]Meline[/name]/[name]Melinda[/name]/[name]Melisande[/name] probably won’t work- too N-heavy with [name]Imogen[/name] and last name.
Something [name]William[/name]-related. This is tough- I’m not wild about [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Willow[/name], [name]Willa[/name], [name]Wilda[/name], [name]Billie[/name], or [name]Wilhelmina[/name].
Tough customer here.
Thanks!

You do give that cosy vibe, [name]Emma[/name]; corduroy, apple cake, hot chocolate, home baked bread, flowercrowns and picnics. Good things!

I actually changed my mind about [name]Beatrix[/name]. The bunnies… going crazy fast on the swings and potting flowers indoors with lots of soil on the floor.

I like [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Xenia[/name], [name]Imogen[/name] Melie/[name]Melia[/name], [name]Imogen[/name] Rosebay, [name]Imogen[/name] Willemijn (too Dutch?), [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Roxana[/name].

Would [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Xanthe[/name] be too over the top? If you are looking for X names, that was the first one to come to mind.

My daughter is [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Helen[/name] [name]Lucille[/name], so that’s my bias. I also considered [name]Imogen[/name], though, and [name]Betty[/name] unrelated to [name]Beatrix[/name].

X-names:

[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Xanthe[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Calixta[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Nyx[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Axelle[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name] Xeline
[name]Imogen[/name] Xara

[name]Mel[/name]:
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Carmella[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Melusine[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Melania[/name]
**though, granted a lot of these don’t have the best flow due the dual M sounds from [name]Imogen[/name] and the middle name

[name]William[/name] related:
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Priscilla[/name] (the illa from [name]William[/name] related names)
[name]Imogen[/name] Cecilla
[name]Imogen[/name] Illaria (if you don’t mind alliteration) or [name]Imogen[/name] Illyria
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Hilary[/name] (il sound)
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Pilar[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Milla[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Romilly[/name]

Ottar of roses: Thank you dear. I’d go for [name]Xenia[/name], Rosebay, or [name]Roxana[/name] in a heartbeat, but they’re not appealing to hubs. Who knows what his criteria are. Willemijn made husband think of [name]Wiley[/name]. Oh dear.

Mcdonak1: I love your daughter’s name! It’s regal, yet light and silvery. Looks like we have some similar taste, though yours is probably more classic. I have a slight weirdo naming streak. I’ll cast my vote with [name]Daphne[/name] for your future daughter - so gorgeous with [name]Beatrix[/name]. [name]Xanthe[/name] is cool, but unfortunately it makes me think of xantham gum.

Sansa (again! thank you): Wow, I hadn’t realized how cold and aggressive the letter X can be. Thank you for hunting those down, but they’re all too ice-queen. [name]Meline[/name] is a tough one… Of your [name]William[/name] suggestions, I love [name]Pilar[/name], but it’s too far from [name]William[/name]. Would be beautiful with [name]Imogen[/name] though… [name]Romilly[/name] made me think of [name]Millay[/name] (as in [name]Edna[/name] St [name]Vincent[/name], who I love) but DH isn’t into that one either.

So we have:

[name]Mab[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Crispin[/name] Yew
[name]Vincent[/name] [name]Marsh[/name]
and

[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name] (if no [name]Mab[/name] [name]Margaret[/name])
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Maggie[/name] (a bit informal, but a direct way to honor the [name]Margaret[/name] who goes by [name]Maggie[/name].)
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Harriet[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Rosemary[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Wiley[/name] (DH’s suggestion, which seems totally incongruous with these names, but I give him points for creativity… [name]Wiley[/name] from [name]William[/name]. [name]Wiley[/name] tricks?)

[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Rosemary[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name] Vim (“in-vim” hm… No.)
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Wiley[/name] (oy vey)
[name]Imogen[/name] Solace - the old winner, swept under the rug after my best friend gave it the eyebrow. I just love [name]Imogen[/name] Solace, but it doesn’t honor family. I’d like to find a name as magical as Solace that also honors family, but dunno if that’s possible.

What do you think? Thanks again everyone.

Some more thoughts for [name]Meline[/name]:

[name]Elin[/name]
[name]Lena[/name] (pron. lee-nuh)
[name]Emmeline[/name] (pron. em-may-leen)

For [name]Beatrix[/name] I am liking all of them generally, though [name]Rosemary[/name] not so much (not a big [name]Rose[/name] name person). [name]Wiley[/name] is different, but it’s growing on me. [name]Imogen[/name]-wise, I agree Vim sounds not quite right there. [name]Beatrix[/name] with it works, and either Solace or [name]Wiley[/name] could be cool.

I’m not big on honoring family so it’s kind of hard for me to say whether I’d put bigger importance on doing that with a name or going with a choice that appeals to your whimsy.

Thanks Sansamama. [name]Emmeline[/name] would be nice, but it’s been used. [name]Elin[/name] is quite beautiful. It doesn’t scream [name]Meline[/name] to me, but I love it anyway. Better with [name]Beatrix[/name] perhaps, because it runs together with [name]Imogen[/name]. [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Elin[/name] mmm.
Funny I don’t think of [name]Rosemary[/name] as a “rose name” at all at all. It’s strictly herbal to me. [name]Wiley[/name] is weird. I’ll keep it around, but DH is bonkers. [name]Wylie[/name]?

[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Harriet[/name]

[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Wiley[/name]

[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Winifred[/name] (no reason, just pretty and Welsh and I love the saint’s story)
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Endellion[/name] (BEG initials :-/)

Honoring mother:
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name] (I like this. Somehow [name]Alexandra[/name] is more palatable to me next to [name]Beatrix[/name]. But initials would be BAG.)
[name]Beatrix[/name] Mallow
[name]Beatrix[/name] Nettle
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Quince[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Salvia[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Verbena[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Acacia[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name] Thistle
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Rosemary[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Rosemary[/name]

I forgot about my great granny [name]Sheila[/name], beloved by my mother.
[name]Imogen[/name] Síle (prn like [name]Sheila[/name], but a bit more graceful imo)
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Celia[/name] ([name]Shakespeare[/name] overload?)
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Selah[/name] (“SEElah” A bit heavily Biblical - used in Psalms, to indicate a musical pause - but I love the meaning, “stop and listen.”)

More of a stretch, sort of sort of close to [name]Sheila[/name]?:
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Shirley[/name] (kind of lovely with our last name, means “bright clearing” and I like that it sounds like “surely.” Too [name]Shirley[/name] [name]Temple[/name]? Yes probably.)
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Sibylla[/name] (“sibEElah” is closer [name]Sheila[/name], though I love the “ziBUYlah” prn too. great meaning and history)

[name]Imogen[/name] Solace
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Constance[/name]

Liking the nickname, ha. [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Elin[/name] sounds great. Very princessy, but with a backbone. [name]Rosemary[/name] does have that herbal feel too, but [name]Rose[/name] is smack in the beginning, so my eyes gravitate to it. Granted, [name]Rose[/name]-esque monikers I’m becoming more neutral to these days. Sort of like [name]Rosalia[/name], from the ole family tree, but I just don’t see it as “my daughter.”

[name]Wylie[/name] seems more palatable to me, less Wile E. Coyote.

[name]Love[/name] [name]Winnifred[/name]. Very happy though, to see someone else who likes [name]Endellion[/name] (everyone thinks I’m odd for digging it, so far, but it has this mystical feel to it that I adore). Initials are tough. Can’t do much in the way of vowel middle names with mine, spells too many words.

Of the possibilities I like:
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Quince[/name] (I think [name]Quince[/name] is neat, not sold on the flow though)
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Verbena[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Acacia[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name] Thistle
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Celia[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Shirley[/name] (I’d think more [name]Shirley[/name] [name]Manson[/name] a la the band Garbage, but I love her, so that’s fine)
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Sibylla[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name] Solace
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Constance[/name]

Mami-San, thanks again. You’re right about [name]Quince[/name]. "Icks and “ince” together is a tongue-twister. [name]Glad[/name] you like [name]Winifred[/name]. [name]Endellion[/name] is stolen from [name]Blade[/name]. It’s got such a sinewy, curling sound, strong and evocative and Welsh. But I think the initials are a deal-breaker.

Some revisions.

Honoring mother:
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name] * (but BAG initials)
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Acacia[/name] (again)
[name]Beatrix[/name] Nettle
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Verbena[/name] *
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Rosemary[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Rosemary[/name] (I love [name]Rosemary[/name], but not sure she’s quite as strong as a middle name)
[name]Imogen[/name] Nettle *

[name]Imogen[/name] Síle * (“SHEElah”)
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Celia[/name] *
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Sibylla[/name] * (“sibEElah”)

Honoring other family:
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Harriet[/name] (shares initials w/my brother, [name]Harriet[/name] from father’s [name]Henry[/name])
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Wiley[/name], [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Wylie[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name] Dear *

Not honoring anyone (though [name]Beatrix[/name] does share [name]Alexandra[/name]'s X…):
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Winifred[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] (I like the BIG initials)
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name] Solace *
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Constance[/name] (too buttoned-up?)

[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Verbena[/name] is really floating my boat. And I think the [name]Sheila[/name]-inspired [name]Imogen[/name] combos have promise. Stinging nettle is an important plant in my family, so [name]Imogen[/name] Nettle is on the table. Hubs is digging [name]Wiley[/name].

Anyone else have insight for me about this list?

Good names, not that I’m surprised! I’ll star my favourites.

[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this, would also like [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Alexa[/name]. I love the repeating x’s. I don’t mind the bag initials, maybe because I’m a bag junkie. The only thing is that this is a very proper and serious name combo next to your other more playful ones. I can almost picture a 18th century painting.
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Acacia[/name]* - [name]Lovely[/name], but it depends on how you pronounce [name]Acacia[/name]? When I say this word I get a very prominent r-sound at the end. It does give me some amazing imagery; bunnies and little [name]Bea[/name] jumping around the acacia trees…
[name]Beatrix[/name] Nettle* - Nettle is cute, love me some nettles. I love the stingy-ness after [name]Beatrix[/name], it feels very cottage English to me. You know, [name]Beatrix[/name] in her garden gloves picking nettles for the soup.
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Verbena[/name] - For some reason I’m having a hard time saying this one. I kind of need to pause between the two names. But it looks divine.
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Rosemary[/name]* - Beautiful, [name]Rosemary[/name] is a real treasure of a name. It feels so earthy and delicious, like roast potatoes and candlelit dinners.

[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Rosemary[/name] - I like this very much, [name]Imogen[/name] and [name]Rosemary[/name] make a playful combo, tree climbing and finger painting.
[name]Imogen[/name] Nettle* - Teehee, this is gorgeous. I think it even beats out [name]Imogen[/name] Dear for me. [name]Imogen[/name] Nettle is definitely a garden girl, you’ll need to have lots of plants and herbs in your windowsills and on the balcony for her to get her green fingers going.

[name]Imogen[/name] Síle - This is beautiful and oh, so fun! Feels very much like you, but I prefer Nettle up there.
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Celia[/name] - I like it, [name]Celia[/name] is gorgeous and easy to say. I do see [name]Shakespeare[/name] immediately though.
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Sibylla[/name]* - ooh, it’s between this and Nettle of the [name]Imogen[/name] combos for me. This is truly divine.

Honoring other family:
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name] - I think this is too many buttons on the fancy boots. Or maybe it’s just that I dislike [name]Marguerite[/name]?
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Harriet[/name] - Cute and sassy, but that’s all. You’ve got better ones.
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Wiley[/name], [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Wylie[/name]* - I like this! Makes me think of [name]Wylie[/name] Dufresne; his restaurant is a must go to when I’m in NY. [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Wylie[/name] is truly precious.
[name]Imogen[/name] Dear* - Obviously a great one, I really love this name so very much. A beautiful combo.

[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Winifred[/name] - Sweet and lovely. Definitely seeing the bunnies in this one.
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] - I don’t think you should banish your beloved [name]Imogen[/name] to the middle, but it is pretty.
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] - Ehm, British much? I thought your man didn’t like names that sounded too English and this screams The [name]Sunday[/name] Times to me.
[name]Imogen[/name] Solace* - Oooooh I had forgotten about this one. Solace is a beautiful and word, and matches adorable [name]Imogen[/name] perfectly. Playful and fun.
[name]Imogen[/name] [name]Constance[/name] - Buttons on the shoes, but not as many as [name]Trixie[/name] Marg up there. It’s beautiful, but again feel very much like a English tea party to me. Feels like it might not go down to well with you hub?

Why can’t you use [name]Rosemary[/name] as a first? Did I miss something? [name]Crispin[/name], [name]Imogen[/name] & [name]Rosemary[/name]? [name]Imogen[/name], [name]Mab[/name] & [name]Rosemary[/name]?

I’m really liking:

[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name]. I’m usually not a fan of [name]Beatrix[/name] and have this weird aversion to x’s in girls’ names (strange, I know), but I like this one.

[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Acacia[/name]- my favorite of your [name]Beatrix[/name] combos. I know a little girl named [name]Acacia[/name] and she so wild and free and precious so it brings up all sorts of good images for me when I hear it.

[name]Imogen[/name] Síle- wow. Absolutely beautiful. I love the way they look together. [name]Truly[/name] lovely and soft.

[name]Lovely[/name], lovely names emmabobemma  I almost don’t want to respond because I have nothing productive to offer. Sometimes I feel like a boring namer
