I personally wouldn’t use [name_u]Blair[/name_u] for a boy, but I would use [name_u]Blair[/name_u] over [name_u]Hunter[/name_u].
[name_u]Blair[/name_u] is not my style for either gender, but I think it’s still usable for a boy. Here’s a male [name_u]Blair[/name_u] that I’ve heard of (he’s time traveled his family back to 1986); also his girlfriend is named [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] (so that’s a couple where it’s confusing as to who’s who).
Yes, [name_u]Blair[/name_u] is a unisex name so it’s quite suiitable for a boy. Since the name has deep significance to you I think it would be the best choice.
[name_u]Hunter[/name_u] and [name_u]Blair[/name_u] are boys names to me, though I know girls with names like [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] and [name_u]Blair[/name_u], I still like it way more for boys.

I wouldn’t. My father’s name is [name_u]Blair[/name_u] and it has caused him a lot of problems.
I have a friend whose husband’s name is [name_u]Blair[/name_u] and I always thought it was a really cool name! It’s a unisex name I genuinely think works for both sexes.
[name_u]Hunter[/name_u] has nothing going for it. Nothing. It should be nothing more than a dog’s name. As that actually makes sense—dogs are hunters. Would you name your kid Bowler or Runner or Camper or after some other hobby that your husband might have?
Please use the super cool and significant [name_u]Blair[/name_u] over [name_u]Hunter[/name_u]! Maybe this thread will convince hubby that [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] is lame.
I know two guys named [name_u]Blair[/name_u], so it isn’t strange to me at all. I see no reason why it can’t work for a boy.
I vastly prefer [name_u]Blair[/name_u] to [name_u]Hunter[/name_u].
I am never sure why someone would want to attach any idea related to violence to a child’s name.
[name_u]Blair[/name_u] is very cool on a guy.
I have aways had a crush on the sibset of [name_u]Blair[/name_u] and [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] for brothers.
The fact that the name has meaning to you as well is a bulls eye!
[name_u]Blair[/name_u] is a total boy name to me. I can think of about a dozen guys named [name_u]Blair[/name_u] I know (or know tangentially) [name_m]IRL[/name_m]. I had never heard of it being used as a girl’s name before looking on name boards with my first. I think it is awesome on a boy!
I have actually met a few girls named [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] over the years, but no girls named [name_u]Blair[/name_u].
