I’m 31 weeks and my husband and I have finally narrowed our boy name choices down to 2…[name]Blake[/name] and [name]Brantley[/name]. We know the middle name will be [name]Alan[/name]. Thoughts?
[name]Brantley[/name] [name]Alan[/name] gets my vote. [name]Brantley[/name] (or just a -ley name in general) would be refreshing to hear on a boy. [name]Blake[/name] is just blah to me and doesn’t have the best sound paired with [name]Alan[/name].

[name]Brantley[/name] is too trendy. [name]Just[/name] look at the graphs under each name on nameberry and see the difference. [name]Blake[/name] has been around since 1883, and probably before. [name]Brantley[/name] appears in 1988, barely, then start to climb up the last two years. [name]Brantley[/name] will be like [name]Caden[/name] and [name]Brayden[/name], and will sound very dated in a decade or two.
I much prefer [name]Blake[/name] to [name]Brantley[/name]. I know [name]Brantley[/name] is not a made-up name, but it kind of sounds it a bit…sorry. I also think [name]Blake[/name] [name]Alan[/name] sounds really good together.
[name]Mischa[/name] took the words out of my mouth. The first thing I thought about [name]Brantley[/name] was “pretentious.” Followed closely by “trendy,” “mad-up” and “is this for a boy or girl?” Not a fan. [name]Blake[/name] all the way.

[name]Blake[/name] has the more modern charm and is also a cute name, though [name]Brantley[/name] is a more unique and savvy name. Though both are modern. [name]Brantley[/name] reminds me of the little boy [name]Bentley[/name] from Teen Mom.
Also, at least for me, I fumble when saying [name]Brantley[/name].
Though I’d go with [name]Brantley[/name] ^^

Sorry, I really dislike [name]Brantley[/name]. All I can think of is ‘rant’, ‘brat’ and ‘[name]Bradley[/name]’ (which is a boys’ name I can’t stand.)
I like [name]Blake[/name]! I think it sonds like a cool guy. 
I really appreciate the feedback…choosing a name is so hard! We had a tough time choosing a name for my 3 year old son, and finally went with [name]Austin[/name] [name]James[/name], which we love! Now that we’re having another boy, it’s even harder to choose…but hearing other people’s opinions has been helpful. Thanks!
