I am using Blayce for my baby girl to go by. I love the sound of [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] Blayce, as hattie was my great grandmothers name. [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] is another family name and I like the sound of Blayce [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] as well. I’m not crazy about going by a middle name, but obviously blayce hattie doesn’t flow. Opinions please!
[name_m]How[/name_m] are you pronouncing Blayce?
I think they are both cute names and that [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] Blayce would work as well. If I had to choose between [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] and [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] then I like [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] better as a stand alone, but I do think that [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] Blayce flows a bit better than Blayce [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]. I’m pronouncing Blayce as if it rhymes with [name_u]Chase[/name_u] and hopefully that’s correct.
[name_f]Hattie[/name_f] Blayce sounds really nice. That would be my pick, especially given the significance of the name. To me, using a family name is good reason to go by a middle name. Both of my parents go by their middle names. One is bothered by it and the other not at all. The one who doesn’t mind has a family name as the legal first name. In the other case, the name order was just chosen based on flow.
Thanks everyone! I am pronouncing it as in “place”. Or lace. [name_m]Just[/name_m] with a B :).
The only other option I have is [name_u]McKinley[/name_u]. It is a family name as well, and I like the sound of Blayce [name_u]McKinley[/name_u]. It was just a last resort compared to the others.
Another vote for [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] Blayce! And I agree with @erin beth about going by a middle name. I know several people in my family who go by their middle names, and their first names are all family names.
[name_f]Edit[/name_f]: I like the spunky sound of Blayce [name_u]McKinley[/name_u], but I’m not a huge fan of the name [name_u]McKinley[/name_u] on its own- I prefer [name_f]Hattie[/name_f]!
