I had a bm and when I wiped (sorry for tmi) there was bright red blood. There has been no bleeding after that and I also felt baby move not long after so is my panic unwarranted? Its the weekend and my Dr’s office is closed so is this worthy of an emergency room visit or do you think it would be ok to wait til [name_f]Monday[/name_f]?
if I hadn’t felt the baby move id be in tears and would go to the emergency room asap but because I did feel the baby multiple times since then and have not had any cramps or any other symptoms as well at the stopped bleeding is it a pretty safe bet that the blood was from straining to use the bathroom? I have no history of bleeding i’m 18 weeks pregnant.
You’re totally right to worry. You don’t expect to bleed after a BM and any bleeding during pregnancy is scary.
If you’ve felt the baby move and are no longer bleeding, I think you’re probably okay. I am not a doctor, but if you are sure that the bleeding did not come from your vagina I think your baby is probably okay. There are women who bleed throughout their pregnancy and the baby is fine. Constipation is common during pregnancy (as are hemorrhoids)–both can cause bleeding. If there was just a little bit on the toilet paper, I think you are safe.
I had a miscarriage three weeks ago. I was very, very early. But the bleeding even at four weeks was like a light-to-moderate period and once it started for me, there was a fair amount of blood. Especially when I peed. So based on what I saw for myself, if the bleeding has stopped for you and doesn’t appear to be vaginal, I think you’re okay.
The most important thing is that the baby is moving so keep an eye on that. If you see any more blood, I would probe a bit to see where it’s coming from. If you start having bad cramping and bright red vaginal blood or clotting, I would go to the hospital.
Otherwise stay hydrated and get some rest. Best wishes to you!
I’m sorry for your loss lilievans.
Sirens_sam- it sounds like your bleeding is not vaginal. [name_u]Bright[/name_u] red blood can appear on the toilet paper after a bowel movement. Likely you were a little constipated or you have a hemorrhoid and it has opened and bled a little. I second lilievans that if you have more bleeding or cramping go to the hospital. Maybe consider increasing your intake of fibre. All the best.
If you’re no longer bleeding and you’ve felt the baby move, I don’t think you have to worry. Like emmajoy says, your bleeding could not be vaginal and there are a lot of possible causes, most of them not serious. If you don’t notice any more blood, I’d wait until [name_f]Monday[/name_f] and then get a doctor to check you out.
Personally, after my own personal loss, I would not take the chance. It could possibly be hemroids, but you should get checked.
Thanks emmajoy.
