Bliss as a nickname for Elizabeth?

I would love to use [name]Elizabeth[/name] (family name, my middle name) as a first name if we have a little girl.
[name]Do[/name] you think that [name]Bliss[/name] would be an acceptable nickname for [name]Elizabeth[/name], or is it too far of a stretch?

I think you could get there just fine. It’s not like [name]Birdie[/name] has a clear connection to [name]Elizabeth[/name], haha, so I say sure. I probably wouldn’t use it as the name she writes on her papers at school everyday (feels like [name]Precious[/name] or [name]Divine[/name] to me), but for a cute, family nickname, I think it’s sweet. And I love [name]Elizabeth[/name]!

I think it’s a bit of a stretch. [name]Bess[/name] comes from the end of the name (I think, lol), and then you get the “li” from the beginning… I don’t know, it could work, and it is cute… I just wouldn’t automatically understand that [name]Bliss[/name]'s full name is actually [name]Elizabeth[/name]. You could do something like [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Bliss[/name]? Or [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Bliss[/name]?

I think it’s cute and just fine. Fits right in with all other [name]Elizabeth[/name] nns like [name]Bess[/name] and [name]Betsy[/name]. I’m not a nn traditionalist though so it takes a lot to shock me.

I actually know an [name]Elizabeth[/name] whose mother calls her [name]Bliss[/name]. She goes by [name]Liz[/name] to everyone else, though.

I think its very sweet. I don’t think you should be limited with nn’s, just go with what feels natural to you  If [name]Bliss[/name] is what you naturally gravitate toward, then go with it!

I think it isn’t at all a stretch. It’s quite beautiful.

I [name]ADORE[/name] it! [name]Elizabeth[/name] nn [name]Bliss[/name] is perfect in my opinion! Though, i was also considering [name]Bliss[/name] as the nickname for [name]Blythe[/name], i think it’s even more stunning paired with [name]Elizabeth[/name].

Go for it!
xoxo [name]Viv[/name]

Very sweet! Go for it!

[name]LOVE[/name] this! I’m a huge lover of unexpected nicknames. [name]Elizabeth[/name] nn [name]Bliss[/name] is perfect.

No. Please no. You might as well get her some five inch plastic heels. I imagine LOTS of teasing in high school. [name]Elisabeth[/name] has hundreds of cute variations and this is just not one of them. Sorry this came off b¡tchy.

I think it’s cute

It fits so naturally! After saying it once, I find myself now saying Elizabliss. Haha. Very sweet! Use it!

Elizabeth has so many nicknames, why not [name]Bliss[/name]? However, it does sound somewhat porn-star to me. [name]How[/name] about Liss?

I really love [name]Bliss[/name]. Go for it!

I knew a girl in hs whose mn was actually [name]Bliss[/name] and a lot of ppl called her by her first and mid name. She had a cute personality, so I always thought the name was kinda cute. I think you could do it from [name]Elizabeth[/name], but I def prefer many of the other [name]Elizabeth[/name] nns. Also, just a thought, you might be setting yourself up for trouble; I’d be afraid the simple act of naming/calling her [name]Bliss[/name] would mean she was going to be the worst, most colicky baby in the universe. Haha, I’m halfway kidding…superstitious I guess.

I dont see bliss as sounding like a porn star name tbh i think if u lie it then go for it!

Works fine as a nn for [name]Elizabeth[/name] for me, and [name]Bliss[/name] doesn’t say porn star to me so much as hippie-beatnik. Go for it if you like it!

Not a stretch! PERFECT… [name]Love[/name] it!

I think it works but it works better with the [name]Elisabeth[/name] spelling.
