Blog posts - This is getting ridiculous

It’s been about 3 months since I could get into a blog post. I didn’t want to complain because I know members are too, but it hasn’t been fixed. Please do something about this!

Sorry for the inconvenience! The main site is getting an upgrade next week and we’re hoping that will fix this issue.

In the meantime, are you still able to access the blog in Private/Incognito mode or when logged out?


I just tried in incognito. That worked! At least I can read them now, but it’s still a little inconvenient.

I know, it’s super frustrating! We haven’t been able to work it out, beyond that it only seems to affect some Chrome users. I take it you’re on Chrome too?

Yes; I’m a Google Chrome user – I’m doing classes online & this is the only compatible browser.

You can install another browser and have two different browsers open at the same time and use them for different things. I sometimes have to do this with Google web apps.

I can read them now, but it will not let me comment on them.

Blog comments have been turned off, unfortunately. We simply weren’t getting enough engagement to justify it. However, once all the teething issues with the new interface are sorted, we’re talking about trialling a system whereby we link to the forums for further discussion of blog posts, for those who want to comment.

Glad it’s not just me. I could never understand why so few people responded to the blog posts. After someone goes to the trouble to write a blog especially, plus they are interesting pieces.

@katinka Did they just update the website? Because I can’t access the website at all now (except for the forum pages) it keeps saying a critically error occurred.


Yes, the website has been updated and we are aware that there are quite a few teething issues with it, which are being worked through right now. I’m having issues with some parts of the site myself.

Please could you let me know your browser and device? Have you tried any other browsers/devices?

I’m on a tablet, and I use safari but also tried chrome and it still wouldn’t open the home page. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!

Hey, I can’t see blog posts’ tags anymore. Could you please bring them back?
Also a lot of the posts’ formatting has been messed up. Exhibit A

Where did this display previously? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you mean the categories (e.g. Boy Names, Girl Names, [name_f]Celebrity[/name_f] Names, etc.)?

I’ve just checked and these both contain tables, which aren’t compatible with the new setup. We’ll be working through these and reformatting them.

Yeah, the categories. I just want to look at articles on naming characters!
