Bluma

Hello everyone!

First of all, I wish you a good 2024 of peace and prosperity from here on out :rainbow:

Please let us discuss about this name, BLUMA. If it is fine for you.

What is your thought on [name_f]Bluma[/name_f]?
It entered the list in [name_u]December[/name_u] 2023 but Iā€™m starting to like it more and more! I feel it is a strong name, with personality, it reminds me of the dark blue color, the nineteenth and early twentieth century atmospheres of intellectual salons and art environments, it also reminds me a little of jazz music.

It means flower (and I love names with floral references) and itā€™s a [name_m]German[/name_m] name (a bonus, I like the [name_m]German[/name_m] language)

I know itā€™s not for everyone but I have other five-letter names on the list with particular and strong sounds of [name_m]German[/name_m] origin and with a vintage yet musical/particular atmosphere such as [name_f]Menta[/name_f], [name_f]Frida[/name_f], [name_f]Zelda[/name_f], Gretaā€¦

Also, how would you match [name_f]Bluma[/name_f] in terms of brothers/sisters?

And I would also need some two middle combos for [name_f]Bluma[/name_f].

A thousand thanks!

[name_f]Bluma[/name_f] feels bold but sweet and it gives me the imagery of [name_m]Morris[/name_m] print wallpaper and floral print dresses. I quite like it - and I enjoy it for your list!

[name_f]My[/name_f] only (personal) doubt is that it reminds me of ā€˜bloomersā€™ :woman_shrugging: not sure if thatā€™s a big deal.

[name_f]Bluma[/name_f] is not for me, and Iā€™m trying to figure out why. I think it might be the B, as I think [name_f]Luma[/name_f] is quite pretty. It reminds me of [name_f]Helga[/name_f], which is another name that has a sort of a harsh consonant interrupting an otherwise soft name (Hela, which I love if it werenā€™t for the slang ā€˜hellaā€™ or just generally sounding like ā€˜hellā€™).

But then [name_f]Bloom[/name_f] is pretty too. Really not sure why I donā€™t like the look of [name_f]Bluma[/name_f]! It sounds prettier than it looks to me, because it really does roll off the tongue. I do really love the floral feel.

In any case, I think [name_f]Bluma[/name_f], [name_f]Frida[/name_f], and [name_f]Greta[/name_f] would be lovely as sisters.

Some middle combos:
[name_f]Bluma[/name_f] Katerin [name_u]Louise[/name_u]
[name_f]Bluma[/name_f] [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_f]Giselle[/name_f]
[name_f]Bluma[/name_f] [name_f]Sigrid[/name_f] [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f]
[name_f]Bluma[/name_f] [name_f]Hannelore[/name_f] [name_f]Mathilde[/name_f]

I came across this one recently too! I have mixed feelings about it but I like the meaning, it reminds me of ā€œbloomā€ and has the nickname ā€œBlueā€ (one of my husbandā€™s favorites) and I actually named my latest project ā€œBluma/Snowflowerā€ (itā€™s a winter coat Iā€™m knitting for my daughterā€”I plan on putting flower motifs in the design.)

I have no idea about middles though! Maybe Iā€™ll be back with something soon!
