Blythe/Bly

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] guys, I have a few questions for you!

How do you pronounce [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]? I’ve seen it pronounced similar to Knife with a B but I pronounce it more drawn out? I don’t know how to put into into a phonetic spelling.

I’m thinking about using either [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] or [name_m]Bly[/name_m] as a middle for [name_f]Esther[/name_f]. Which do you prefer?

Is [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]/Bly too much with the last name [name_f]Bloom[/name_f]?

[name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_m]Bly[/name_m] [name_f]Bloom[/name_f]
[name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_f]Bloom[/name_f]

I think the spelling is pretty much how I would spell it phonetically lol. I pronounce it like knife with a B and TH also. [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] and [name_m]Bly[/name_m] are a little much with the last name [name_f]Bloom[/name_f], but I don’t think that should stop you from using either. I like [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] better, but I think [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_m]Bly[/name_m] [name_f]Bloom[/name_f] has a slightly better flow.

I do pronounce [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] similar to knife, but the slightest bit more drawn out. I really like [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], and [name_m]Bly[/name_m] is fine. With [name_f]Esther[/name_f], they sound nice, but they are a bit confusing with [name_f]Bloom[/name_f].

I pronounce it like Bl-eye-th. Hopefully that makes sense. I like [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], and much prefer it to [name_m]Bly[/name_m]. I think it sounds fine with [name_f]Bloom[/name_f]

I say it kind of drawn out, with a voiced th—for me it sounds exactly like “writhe” with a Bl-.

Either one sounds great with [name_f]Esther[/name_f], but I do think it’s difficult with surname [name_f]Bloom[/name_f]. However, the middle and surname are not said together all that often, so I don’t think it’s that big a deal.

I pronounce it kind of like Bl-eye-v (all one syllable and rhyming with writhe)

Esther [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] is nice but I find it a bit much with your surname
