What do you think of [name]Blythe[/name] for a girl? It has been my favorite girl’s name since I read ‘[name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables’ when I was around 12 or so. Opinions please!
[name]Hi[/name]! I love [name]Blythe[/name] so much, too, and for the exact same reason! I also love the meaning of [name]Blythe[/name]. To me, [name]Blythe[/name] is both cheerful and elegant, and I can see it on both a little girl and a professional woman.
I would love to meet a little [name]Blythe[/name]! I also think it makes a beautiful middle name.
Good luck!
I know! I think of a quote from one of the books, “[name]Blythe[/name] by name and blythe by nature”. I love it! I am glad to read your positive response- thanks!
I love that quote! I love happy names, so to me, [name]Blythe[/name] is perfect! (And I also love [name]Anne[/name]…I love all things [name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables.)
I only know one [name]Blythe[/name], and she’s wonderful! Smart, funny, warm, cheerful, etc., which makes me love the name even more. I think it’s such a wonderful name in every way!
It’s nice to know that someone else out there likes [name]Blythe[/name]!
Good luck!
I love love love the name [name]Blythe[/name]! It’s at the top of my girls list for my future daughters. It’s one of the few names that is very, very familiar to a lot of people but the name doesn’t seem to get use (not necessarily a bad thing if you like individuality!). I too loved “[name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables” growing up and [name]Noel[/name] Coward’s “[name]Blithe[/name] [name]Spirit[/name]” is one of my favorite plays. Such a fun and happy name!
That’s such a good point, Freckles (well-known but not often used)! I love “[name]Blithe[/name] [name]Spirit[/name],” too, by the way!
Take care!
Beautiful I know one little [name]Blythe[/name], middle name [name]Sophia[/name]- my daughter’s best friend. She’s five years old and adorable
[name]Gracie[/name]
[name]Blythe[/name] is a darling, elegant and underused name!
I think it’s a winner!
I used to hate [name]Blythe[/name] because I thought she was too clunky and odd for a wee girl to carry, but I’ve grown to love her!
I prefer the slightly ‘lighter’ spelling of [name]Blithe[/name] though… Somehow the ‘i’ makes it less clunky for me
Same with [name]Twyla[/name]/[name]Twila[/name] and -line/-lyn endings
It’s the opposite with [name]Bryony[/name]/[name]Briony[/name] though, but I think that’s because [name]Bryony[/name] is the correct way of spelling the word. [name]Briony[/name] to me is like changing [name]Daisy[/name] to [name]Daisie[/name] to make it more name-y, and I just don’t like it…
[name]Blythe[/name] is a wonderful underused but familiar name that more people should use as a first name!
It’s on my list of short names I love along with [name]Una[/name], [name]Pearl[/name] and [name]Maud[/name]
Ugh. I really dislike the name [name]Blythe[/name]. To me, it’s too frilly and it reminds me of [name]Bliss[/name]. I don’t know, though. I’m definitely in favor of honoring someone with a name (even fictional people). And it suonds like many others like it, so what the heck! [name]Don[/name]'t listen to me! I’m probably just the odd one out.
I love it so much! Its so sweet yet has so much girl power. What would her middle name be?
