Bonding with someone with the same uncommon name!

I was at the airport today with my family, and I called to my son [name_m]Cormac[/name_m], only to have another mom pipe up, “We have a [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] too!” Turns out they spell it [name_m]Cormick[/name_m], but we had fun comparing nicknames, discussing reasons behind our choices, and other uncommon name anecdotes. It felt like I was talking with someone on Nameberry in person

I’m wondering if other users have had similar experiences with their own uncommon name/child’s uncommon name?

Cheers, berries!

That’s so cool! My [name_f]Juno[/name_f] is at preschool with another [name_f]Juno[/name_f], and I definitely feel like it was a good ice-breaker when I first met her mum. Turns out we have lots of other stuff in common too, which I guess makes sense!

[name_m]Cormac[/name_m] is a great name!

Fun! Your comment made me think back to another mom I met at my daughter’s gymnastics class…She heard [name_m]Cormac[/name_m]'s name and asked if it was after the author, [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] [name_u]McCarthy[/name_u], which was where I originally heard it. We also had lots in common

I love the name [name_f]Juno[/name_f]!
