Bonnie or Josephine?

Wow thank you for such a considered response!! I didn’t realise [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] was trending that much in the UK too, agree we tend to follow your trends so this is definitely someone to keep in mind. I have seen more babies names [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] than I have [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] over here so I’m not surprised.

Also very true about the generational shift - there will be tons of cutesy names when she’s all grown up so it shouldn’t be an issue. I need to shake that off.

Ohh! I love them both (but not together!!) starting to wish I had a second set of twins to get to use both names! Haha!

[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is so cheerful and sweet. I can see [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] on an adult

[name_u]Love[/name_u] the name [name_u]Josie[/name_u] so I would vote for [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]

With Sisters [name_u]Marion[/name_u] and [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] I think [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] fits the best. I love long names that have nicknames

I would love to meet a little baby [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] and I really like [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] and [name_u]Marion[/name_u] together but I feel like [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] would be the outlier

I also love [name_f]Posey[/name_f] !

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] nn Posie/Josie gets my vote! that is absolutely adorable. i can also see [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] on a grown women maybe just because i know an older [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] and she wears it well. i still slightly prefer [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] over [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f]!
best of luck xoxo

I know an adult [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f]! It never occurred to me that it didn’t sound professional because she is quite professional. I do prefer [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] though (as you can see, I’m biased).

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] because it can have nicknames to make it less stuffy.

Firstly congratulations & good luck with everything hope it all goes smoothly :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Honestly naming is so hard I really struggled with naming my daughter I had so many doubts drove myself crazy. On the final week of my pregnancy before I went into have my c section I was going backwards & forwards completely uncertain wondering whether I should go with something else or whatever anyways once she was born I just knew her name was [name_f]Lilia[/name_f]. I’m sure you’ll experience the same so maybe bring both [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] & [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] then decide what name is the one for your daughter.

[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is adorable such a happy upbeat name that feels summery and vibrant.
I think she does sound adorably vintage with [name_u]Marion[/name_u] & [name_f]Camilla[/name_f]. In relation to your concerns about professionalism I wouldn’t be concerned about [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] not being professional on a CV or whatever children are named a variety of different things nowadays I do not see how being called [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] will hold her back. Anyways [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is lovely. [name_f]My[/name_f] friend has a daughter called [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] she’s 10 and hasn’t had any issues on the other end my sociology teacher when I was at college was called [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] she also didn’t face any difficulties.

Still my favourite is [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] (nickname [name_f]Posey[/name_f] that’s absolutely perfection) I honestly think [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is beautiful. She’s elegant, reserved, sweet sounding and has a range of lovely nicknames. I think [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] works brilliantly with [name_u]Marion[/name_u] & [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] along with [name_m]Bram[/name_m] if you were to use this name in the future. [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] to me isn’t stuffy rather just classy but you could liven her up with a spunky middle name
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Clover[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Lila[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Nell[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Alba[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Gracie[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_u]Lark[/name_u]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Goldie[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Opal[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Blossom[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_u]Berry[/name_u]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
You could always combine your two favourites [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] would be sweet.

Good luck!

I love [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]!

[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] is the name I would prefer to have! Could [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] be an opition for you? There’s no way to know if your daughter will ever want to be a business woman in the future, but in case she does and feels like her name is in the way for some reason, she could always use her more “serious” middle name.

Australian - chiming in with the opinion that [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] isn’t too stuffy and could actually be quite cute, especially with the nn potential

Definitely [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]! [name_f]Every[/name_f] time i hear it used wholly i think how beautiful it is and the nn [name_u]Josie[/name_u] just ruins the refinement and femininity of it. It is in a different class to [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] in my opinion.

I love [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] so much more than [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f]!
It’s SO versatile with its professional formal name yet has such cutesy (and many) nicknames.

I think you’ve almost pushed me over the line for [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]! Thank you for your lovely thoughts on this - super helpful!
