Books to inspire

What are some lesser known books that have featured characters you could consider naming your kids after?

For example, if my partner hadn’t shot it down, I would love to name a boy Simmon, after a character from my favourite book, The Name of the Wind.

I also would love to use Fela, but would worry people would confuse if with fella.

However, because of one of the antagonists from the books, I personally could never name a kid Ambrose!

There are lots of other great rarities found in Patrick Rothfuss’ books (plus they’re amazing fantasy books) so I would highly recommend them

What other books/series would you recommend? I’ll cover some common ones so we can dive right into the lesser known ones
Harry Potter
Hunger Games
Twilight
Chronicles of Narnia
Lord of the Rings
Roald Dahl’s books
Beatrix Potter’s books

What else ya got?

I’ve written this before and I will again

Agatha [name_u]Christie[/name_u] books are a treasure trove - Poirot and Miss Marple
Pg Wodehouse books too - Jeeves and Wooster, Psmith, Blandings Castle stories.

Jane [name_u]Austen[/name_u]’s books and the books by the Brontë sisters.
Any myths and legends from any cultures inspire me.
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] Gaskell wrote books in the early Victorian era, (north and south for example) - interesting names there.
And of course [name_m]Sherlock[/name_m] [name_m]Holmes[/name_m] stories☺️

P. S. Sorry just re-read your question and saw ‘lesser known’ - they aren’t all lesser known i’m afraid

Shouting at the [name_u]Rain[/name_u] — the character’s full name is [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_u]Gale[/name_u]. He’s my favorite character. [name_m]Hence[/name_m] one of the reasons why I have the combo [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_u]Gale[/name_u] on my UC.

I read YA, and there’s a lot of less-recognized YA out there that I love. Also, I’m a writer, so I name characters instead of people, so a lot more goes when you’re writing!
I love names from [name_u]Austen[/name_u], like Dashwood, [name_u]Darcy[/name_u], and [name_m]Bennet[/name_m].
I love [name_f]Ally[/name_f] [name_u]Carter[/name_u]’s names, like [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] [name_f]Ann[/name_f], [name_u]Hale[/name_u], and B/B twins, [name_m]Angus[/name_m] and [name_m]Hamish[/name_m].
I love [name_f]Jen[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] [name_m]Barnes[/name_m]’s names, like [name_m]Tobias[/name_m], [name_u]Jameson[/name_u], [name_u]Dean[/name_u], [name_f]Lia[/name_f], and [name_m]Thatcher[/name_m].
