You might have to get selective with those foreign versions of flower names in my anagramming thread, because I think some of them make better surnames than first names.

Keep up the great work, Unicorngal! I think you’re well on the way to compiling the definitive botanical baby names list to be found anywhere on the 'net!

– [name]Nephele[/name]

[name]Hi[/name] Unicorngal,
I noticed you have [name]Meadow[/name] on your list of names. In that case, I think you could add [name]Prairie[/name] and [name]Savannah[/name] to your list, as well.
This is a great list. Thanks.

I really love this topic, and loved the list of French plant names, [name]Nephele[/name]. Can you give us some others - say, Italian or [name]German[/name]? Or (I don’t want to appear lazy) is there a particular site for all these foreign-language plants and flowers? It is so interesting.

Yes, it was meant to be [name]Saffron[/name] ^^

Also, all J’s are pronounced as Y’s …

I’m glad you like them!

They’re great additions to the list! I hope more people here from other countries are able to add more flower names from their native lands to Unicorngal’s list, as well.

Unicorngal, here’s a suggestion for you: [name]How[/name] about editing your Master List into your first posting in this thread, and doing all subsequent updatings in that first posting?

This way, anyone checking this thread will see the Master List as the first posting, instead of having to hunt through the entire thread each time for your updated list.

Tamarisk - Salt [name]Cedar[/name]

Hey thanks for the well intentioned post but you should really consider what some of these names actually mean (the meaning is an essential reason do choosing a name, isn’t it)!

Thistle? (A sharp, prickly plant that gets it seeds stuck in you and usually hurts very much)

Amaranthus? (tumbleweed)

Celery? Chive? [name]Cinnamon[/name]? Locust?

If you’re going to go through the trouble of posting on this site, please keep your list to names that people should actually use and not every plant name you can think of.

[name]Just[/name] stating the obvious…
