I have a stillborn named [name_m]Robert[/name_m] and my 2nd son is [name_m]John[/name_m]. I am pregnant again with Boy #3 and I was wanting to name him [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] but I am stressed out. [name_f]My[/name_f] dad has been pressuring me to incorporate his name [name_m]Jeffrey[/name_m] [name_m]Alan[/name_m] for a boy even though [name_m]Robert[/name_m] Came from his grandfather. Any middle names to go with [name_m]Caleb[/name_m]? I thought about doing [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_m]Dewayne[/name_m] after my husband’s middle name.
Or any suggestions on a different name that goes with [name_m]Robert[/name_m] and [name_m]John[/name_m]? I could use all the help I can get.
Robert and [name_m]John[/name_m] are nice, strong classics. They make me think of:
[name_m]William[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
[name_m]Charles[/name_m]
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]
[name_m]Frederick[/name_m]
[name_u]George[/name_u]
I think [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_m]Jeffrey[/name_m] or [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_m]Alan[/name_m] flow very well.
You could have 2 middle names. It may seem excessive to some people, but I know how family can be pushy on these things and how it’s sometimes best to go along with it (certainly not always)
Caleb [name_m]Jeffrey[/name_m] [name_m]Dewayne[/name_m]
or
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_m]Jeffrey[/name_m]-[name_m]Dewayne[/name_m]
Caleb [name_m]Alan[/name_m] [name_m]Dewayne[/name_m]
or
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_m]Alan[/name_m]-[name_m]Dewayne[/name_m]
It might sound a bit far fetched but maybe you could make a combination of [name_m]Dewayne[/name_m] with [name_m]Jeffery[/name_m] or [name_m]Alan[/name_m] for the middle? Some of these might be quite a stretch though.
Caleb [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] would be my suggestion. You can incorporate an honor name, but if you don’t want to, your son can always emulate your loved one through his actions. Child-rearing is a sensitive situation that should be filled with compassion, not stress. I hope those around you are mindful of your wellbeing.
Caleb [name_m]Jeffrey[/name_m] would also be nice if you choose to honor your father.
I love [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] — it’s is a warm, joyful name
I think [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] is brilliant! [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]/Judah work particularly well for using letters that appear in your husband’s and dad’s names without picking one over the other.
I know some people love using honour names, but it will be with your son for life, so if you don’t love it, don’t do it! If your father was really that bothered, he could have found a way to do it with his own children, and you shouldn’t feel pressured to do it for him. Good luck!
Perhaps [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_m]Jeffrey[/name_m] [name_m]Dewayne[/name_m] or [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_m]Alan[/name_m] [name_m]Dewayne[/name_m]
At the end of the day you get final decision. I think [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_m]Dewayne[/name_m] is a nice strong name and is great with your sibset
