Boy Bird Names

I think you’ve got a lot of suggestions but just want to second the suggestion of [name_u]Finch[/name_u]!

Adding my vote to the previously mentioned [name_u]Kestrel[/name_u].

As a fellow bird lover (and as someone who bears a bird name myself), I LOOOOVE this theme. [name_f]My[/name_f] dream is to give all of my future future children a bird-related name as one of their names, and I can call them my little flock.

Anyways, my style tends to mean more subtle, but some of the ones that might work for your preference are:

  • Avim (Ok, this one is more subtle, but I included it because I think it sounds AMAZING with your other children’s names!)

  • Dunlin

  • Verdin

And I also second [name_u]Eider[/name_u], [name_m]Vireo[/name_m], and [name_u]Robin[/name_u]. But especially [name_u]Eider[/name_u]. [name_u]Sparrow[/name_u], [name_u]Wren[/name_u], [name_m]Hawk[/name_m], and [name_u]Eider[/name_u] just sound so dreamy together!

Anyways, my criteria for my suggestions was, “If you Google this name/word, is a bird the first thing that pops up?” (Avim was the one exception.)

Basically, for it to be an obvious bird name, a bird needed to be the first thing that showed up. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] it helps you find the perfect bird name for your new babe.

And, just in case, here are some more subtle names. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if that’s not what you mean towards, who knows—maybe one of them will surprise you and be the perfect name!

  • [name_m]Branigan[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Colm[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Lonan[/name_m]

Thank so much!! This is all super helpful. :blue_heart:

I was also thinking about possibilities of words a vs terns that are bird related but not necessarily specifically a bird name. Like, “Aerie” which has a cute ring to it and is the name of an Eagles nest. [name_u]Or[/name_u], “Gander.” But I am not much of a bird person so can’t think of much more but maybe others can.

[name_u]Starling[/name_u] came to mind. Which led to [name_u]Sterling[/name_u]
As well as [name_m]Rook[/name_m]
Kingfisher and could use [name_m]King[/name_m] or [name_m]Fisher[/name_m] for short
[name_u]Heron[/name_u]
