[name_m]Hi[/name_m], nameberries!
We have about 6 weeks till our new human baby arrives, but are taking a break from human names to kick around names for the new puppies we have coming in a few days!
They are a brother-sister pair of Irish Wolfhound/Lab pups. The boy is black with brown socks, and the girl is black with brown tips - sort of brindle colored - with a white patch on her chest. They will eventually be gigantic, shaggy beasts. They have a very laid back, mellow temperament, despite their size.
It would be great to have the perfect pair of names for them. Our older cockapoo, [name_f]Ginger[/name_f], was originally named to go with her brother, [name_m]Fred[/name_m], as hubby and I are ballroom dance teachers. After [name_m]Fred[/name_m] met with an untimely demise, we adopted a pair of wolfhound/labs and named them Gilligan and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f], to still go with [name_f]Ginger[/name_f]. We were thinking we might do additional spice names this time, to go with [name_f]Ginger[/name_f] another way, but having a bit of a hard time finding ones we like for this dog breed. It may be enough to keep these ones named separately, as a pair, or just a good non-pair combo.
Names we have been considering, so far:
Spice-related -
Sassafras (nn Sassy) for girl, who is a sassy pup
Truffle for boy - very sweet and gentle, but my parents hate it cuz it sounds too little for such a big brute
Licorice - boy
Espresso - boy
Chocolate bark - boy
Pairs:
Heffalump and Woozle
Shrek and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] (I like, kids hate)
[name_m]Tarzan[/name_m] & [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
Bullwinkle (would prob stick with Sassy for the girl if we used this, as my parents have a [name_m]Rocky[/name_m] dog, mini schnauzer)
[name_m]Donnie[/name_m] and [name_f]Marie[/name_f]
[name_m]Othello[/name_m] and [name_f]Desdemona[/name_f] (love the play, but prob too serious for these dogs)
[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] and [name_m]Clyde[/name_m] (but don’t really want them named after criminals)
What do you like/suggest???
We have until Thursday to get the names nailed down, and would love any feedback or suggestions.
Thanks so much!
