Boy name help

Hello my DH and I really like either [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_m]Maxen[/name_m] or [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_m]Maddox[/name_m] for our son who is due at the end of [name_f]February[/name_f]. However both of us are concerned that [name_u]Wren[/name_u] is kind of a girls name. I am not as big of fan of [name_m]Maddox[/name_m] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] or [name_m]Maxen[/name_m] [name_u]Wren[/name_u], I’m not sure why I don’t think it flows as well. What do all of you think can [name_u]Wren[/name_u] work for a boy?

I think [name_u]Wren[/name_u] is solidly unisex right now, though that could change. On the other hand, I would assume [name_u]Ren[/name_u] (or Reyn, as I’ve known someone to spell it) is a boy.

I don’t love [name_u]Ren[/name_u] spelling reminds me of [name_m]Kylo[/name_m] [name_u]Ren[/name_u] not a big fan of the character even if it is more masculine.

I like [name_u]Wren[/name_u] alot for a boy! I think it works fine, it has a unisex sound and look to it. [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_m]Maddox[/name_m] is lovely. I do think [name_m]Maddox[/name_m] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] sounds fine to, but like you I prefer [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_m]Maddox[/name_m].

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]! I also really like [name_m]Maxen[/name_m], but [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_m]Maxen[/name_m] sounds a bit repetitive. [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_m]Maddox[/name_m] is superb, I say go for it!

I think it works. In fact, I would prefer to see it on a boy.

Oh I definitely prefer the [name_u]Wren[/name_u] spelling too! And I think it works on a boy (just not exclusively on a boy). [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_m]Maddox[/name_m] is a great, unexpected match.

I don’t know any Wrens; however, I would assume it’s a girl’s name. If I think only about the sound, I think it sounds masculine. I would prefer [name_u]Ren[/name_u] or [name_m]Renn[/name_m] or perhaps Rhen for a boy. I do like [name_u]Ren/name_u for a boy.

I would assume [name_u]Wren[/name_u] is a girl if I saw the name written. I associate [name_u]Ren[/name_u] with [name_m]Kevin[/name_m] Bacon’s character in Footloose, not [name_m]Kylo[/name_m] [name_u]Ren[/name_u].

[name_u]Wren[/name_u] is definitely unisex, and with the middle of [name_m]Maddox[/name_m] I would definitely say that it is a masculine combo. I am not so keen on [name_m]Maxen[/name_m] it is a bit too unisex for me when combined with [name_u]Wren[/name_u]. I like [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_m]Maddox[/name_m] I say go for it.

I don’t mind the Rhen spelling actually still don’t like [name_u]Ren[/name_u] makes me think [name_m]Kylo[/name_m] [name_u]Ren[/name_u] and [name_u]Ren[/name_u] and Stimpy. Funny enough I’m 32 and I never saw either version of footloose so I did not know that reference at all. I might have to watch it just for that.

I am still deciding DH doesn’t like [name_m]Soren[/name_m] really. Still not 100% thinking of middle names for [name_m]Maddox[/name_m] I think instead.
