I am the mother of two little girls, [name]Rorie[/name] and [name]Noa[/name]. We are discussing having a third child and we realized that we might have some problems choosing a name if we were to have a boy. Because both of our girls have names that are slightly masculine (or at least perceived that way) I feel like I would need an ultra manly name in order to make it distinct. Any suggestions?
My suggestion would be go classic or go [name]Roman[/name]. You don’t have to name him [name]Butch[/name] or [name]Gunner[/name] to make it clear he’s a boy. Names like [name]Joseph[/name], [name]Henry[/name], [name]Cassius[/name], or [name]Julius[/name] won’t be mistaken for girls. Here are a few lists for you to peruse:
I agree with the previous poster, a traditional established male name should be sufficient.
[name]Rory[/name] is used for girls and boys. [name]Noa[/name] is a legitimate and ancient girls name so not gender bending there. I say pick whatever boy name you love, it definitely doesn’t need to be over the top screaming BOY BOY BOY with you girls names in my opinion.
Some parents paint themselves into a corner when they give their girls male names but you guys didn’t do that. The names are on the softer end of they boy name spectrum so you still have tons of options for your son. It doesn’t have to be uber manly like [name]Thor[/name] or [name]Victor[/name] just established, like [name]James[/name], [name]Christopher[/name], [name]Nathaniel[/name], or [name]Allan[/name]
[name]Rory[/name] is a boy name and people hear your name more than they see it so [name]Noa[/name] is perceived as [name]Noah[/name]
[name]Noa[/name] is actually a girl’s name - the similarity to [name]Noah[/name] is based on the fact that English doesn’t have a certain sound that exists in Hebrew. Although i do get that most people in English speaking countries won’t catch the difference. That’s just one of the annoying things about English.
I’d go with a simple, relatively short, but clearly and traditionally masculine name. Nothing that’s trying to hard to be male. Since the names you’ve already used are pretty diverse in terms of meaning and origin, you’ve really got a lot of possibilities.
There are plenty of great boy names out there that are very masculine and would match with your girls. [name]Do[/name] you have some examples of boy names that you like? Here are some ideas
