[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there! This is my first post ever here. We are adopting a little baby through foster care and have been trying to think of a name for him. All of our kiddos have J middle names so my preference is to not have repeat first name initials either. I really love the names [name_m]Jenson[/name_m] and [name_u]Jett[/name_u] for middle names. [name_f]My[/name_f] sweet grandma calls him [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] (Max for short) because he was so tiny when we brought him home and she says he’s one in a million. I love [name_u]Max[/name_u] but one eye closes when I think of having 2 M names. Haha!
We have a [name_f]Paige[/name_f], [name_u]Morgan[/name_u], [name_u]Elijah[/name_u] and [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] so those first initials are out. I’d love some creative feedback. Thanks!
[name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] is adorable! I don’t think having two M names would be too horrible if you really love [name_u]Max[/name_u] and it suits him. Most people won’t realise that you have repeated initials.
[name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] means “greatest” so here are some names with similar meanings:
[name_u]August[/name_u] “great, magnificent”
[name_u]Austin[/name_u] (same as above)
[name_u]Darren[/name_u] “little great one”
[name_m]Gordon[/name_m] “great hill”
Other names I think could fit:
[name_f]Paige[/name_f], [name_u]Morgan[/name_u], [name_u]Elijah[/name_u], [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] and
[name_m]Maximillian[/name_m] is so cool and meaningful and it sounds so different from [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] and distinct enough since you don’t have all M names that it could work. Still, I do understand your resevrations!
I think [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] is perfect but if you really dislike having another M name.
[name_m]Baxter[/name_m] - [name_m]Bax[/name_m]
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m] - [name_u]Alex[/name_u] (I second or third this suggestion)
[name_u]Dexter[/name_u] - [name_m]Dex[/name_m]
[name_u]Jackson[/name_u] - [name_m]Jax[/name_m]
I agree with others that [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] would be nice. Also like the suggestions of [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], [name_u]Daniel[/name_u], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], [name_m]Joshua[/name_m], [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] & [name_u]William[/name_u]
[name_m]Emiliano[/name_m] / [name_m]Emil[/name_m] comes to mind when I say [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m]
[name_u]Will[/name_u] also suggest [name_u]David[/name_u], [name_m]Tobias[/name_m], & [name_u]Timothy[/name_u]
I love that your grandma calls him [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m]. That is such a sweet reason behind it. If you’re okay with two M’s I think you should stick with [name_u]Max[/name_u] because that is just so cute. [name_u]Max[/name_u] and [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] aren’t super similar sounding so I think it would work fine.
If you really are against having two M names, some other ideas…
[name_m]Lewis[/name_m]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m]
[name_m]Weston[/name_m]
[name_m]Ethan[/name_m]
[name_u]Tyler[/name_u]
[name_u]Scott[/name_u]
[name_m]Tobias[/name_m]
[name_u]Oliver[/name_u]
I think [name_m]Maximillian[/name_m] nn [name_u]Max[/name_u] is a nice & matches well with the siblings’ names. You could also use [name_u]Maxwell[/name_u] or [name_m]Maximus[/name_m] nn [name_u]Max[/name_u]. I don’t think the shared initial is an issue, especially since [name_u]Max[/name_u] & [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] don’t really sound alike otherwise. you could use an X to mark his belongings since he’d be the only one with an X in his name.
i love maximilian for you! such a sweet story and so meaningful. tbh, i feel like morgan and max / maximilian are so different that i don’t think the same initial is a big issue. i do understand your concerns, but if you love it i say go for it!
anyway, some other suggestions:
paxton / pax
jaxon / jax
knox
felix
frederick
alexander
leonard / leonardo
patrick nn pax
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] and [name_u]Max[/name_u] sound very different to me, and anyway if that’s the name you love it’s an adorable story and I think you should go for it
