[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all, a sibling for [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] is due [name_f]October[/name_f] (we won’t be finding out the sex) and I am so stuck for boys names.
Our top 3 are [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] (my favorite), [name_m]Felix[/name_m] (DHs favourite) and [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], but I’m not sure if they’re quite ‘special’ enough. I feel like I hear all of them frequently on NB, do you know many in real life?
I would love some opinions and suggestions. Our strongest middle name contender is [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m], my mother’s maiden name.
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and [name_m]Felix[/name_m] are among my top names! I like [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], but not sure I’d use it myself.
As far as irl, I have only met a single [name_m]Felix[/name_m] (who was in his late 50’s). No little ones. And have never met a [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] or [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]. I probably don’t meet as many kids as a kindergarten teacher but I do ultrasound and I wind up hearing a fair amount of names through my job. So, I wouldn’t think they’re especially common.
As a teacher [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] is very popular in my hipster hood. There are a few [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]'s and not many [name_m]Felix[/name_m]'s. All three names sound like brothers names and have the same style. Sounds like you haven’t found the perfect name you can both agree on yet!
I’ve never met anyone with those names! I think like a PP said it depends on where you live. I live in a very conservative state and on the SSA list for my state we have names like [name_m]Gunner[/name_m], [name_m]Waylon[/name_m], and [name_m]Brantley[/name_m] but likely will never have [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m], or [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]. Of course if you don’t live in the US then it’s probably very different and possibly more popular
I like all three names, but [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] best of all. It’s perfect with [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] is incredibly handsome.
I’m a teacher, and I’ve met one [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], and zero boys named [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] or [name_m]Felix[/name_m].
I think Nameberry is pretty rarefied. Think runway fashion versus street fashion. Check the SS lists to see where those names fall in popularity in real life, nationwide as well as in your state. I’d take Nameberry experiences with a grain of salt.
I just have to say - [name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] is AMAZING to me.
It’s rare, but not unfamiliar. It’s distinguished, but still fun. It’s vintage, but sounds modern.
I’m in love. Seriously.
(Side note: [name_m]Felix[/name_m] is a contender for us, and I’ve thought about using [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] as it it the county in which my husband and I grew up. So - I’m biased because I already love both names. I say go for it!)
