Boy name 'Wren'

I really love [name_u]Wren[/name_u] for a boy!
If people heard ‘[name_u]Wren[/name_u]’ out on the playground, I don’t think they would assume that your child is a girl ([name_m]Kylo[/name_m] [name_u]Ren[/name_u] has shed alot of exposure to the ‘[name_u]Ren[/name_u]’ sound on a boy)
I think the spelling is most likely to make people assume it is feminine, since [name_u]Wren[/name_u] is more commonly used on females… [name_u]Ren[/name_u] could always be an option if it bothers you, but I like the look of [name_u]Wren[/name_u] best (and in my mind it’s completely unisex!)

I’m not a huge [name_u]Wren[/name_u] fan but it feels completely unisex to me!

I really like it as a boy’s name! I has a feminine lean in terms of usage, but it is a unisex nature name that isn’t super popular for girls or boys.

I love it!!! I’ve always had a thing for softer, slighty more feminine type boy names. I think [name_u]Wren[/name_u] is definitely wearable for a boy.

The name is unisex, and personally I do not think it’s a problem that a name is also used for girls too. It’s along the same lines as [name_u]Robin[/name_u] or [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] or other very squarely unisex names. I’ve met one little boy [name_u]Wren[/name_u] and 2 girls with the name, one was about the same age as the boy and the other was in high school. I’ve also known multiple [name_m]Rens[/name_m], which is said the same and is almost exclusively masculine.

I don’t think it will be an issue, but even if someone expressed the opinion that [name_u]Wren[/name_u] was a “girl name” they’d just be putting their own toxic ideas about masculinity on display.

Wren seems really feminine to me, that being said there’s a little boy down the street from us named [name_u]Wren[/name_u]. He’s only 1 year old but I still think they should have used [name_u]Ren[/name_u] or [name_m]Renn[/name_m] whenever I see them 🤷. Clearly other people like it too though so despite by better judgement I would say go for it lol!

Yes, thank you

To me it comes off like [name_u]Robin[/name_u] where it can be used for boys and girls. I think both names are some of the few unisex names I actually like equally for either gender. I would probably pair it with a more masculine sounding name for a boy and a very frilly name for a girl.

I like it as a nickname for [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] or any -rence name. I do think it can work as a full or nn for either sex.

I really like [name_u]Wren[/name_u] as a boy name. It could also function as a great middle name, or a nickname. I could see [name_u]Wren[/name_u] maybe being a nickname for something like [name_m]Henry[/name_m].

I have a friend who has a son called [name_u]Wren[/name_u] and honestly I just know him as [name_u]Wren[/name_u] and don’t think anything of it. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though I had only ever heard of the name for a girl.
If you like it, I say use it for a boy. Its a nice name.

I love [name_u]Wren[/name_u] and [name_u]Ren[/name_u] sooo much ! I have been trying to get my spouse on board for at least 3 years !! I am glad to see it is getting some much deserved love !
I think it’s one of those names a see as unisex much like other bird names. I love the tie to nature

I love it for girls and boys

Yeah, I agree.

Now I’m just struggling to find a middle name that flows with our last name Carruthers? Any suggestions?

I don’t know your style so I will try to give you some eclectic options

Wren [name_u]Michael[/name_u] Carruthers
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] Carruthers
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Kyle[/name_u] Carruthers
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_m]Rueben[/name_m]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_m]Benson[/name_m]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Anderson[/name_u]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Bradley[/name_u]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_m]Josiah[/name_m]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_m]Elijah[/name_m]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_m]Woodrow[/name_m]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Raven[/name_u]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]River[/name_u]

I’d only use [name_u]Wren[/name_u] on a girl. I’d use [name_u]Ren[/name_u] for a boy :relaxed:
