Boy Name

We’re having a difficult time choosing a name for DS2. DS1 is [name_m]Wesley[/name_m] [name_m]Eli[/name_m] and our last name is [name_m]German[/name_m] pronounced Sh-roe-der. I think we have it narrowed down to:

[name_m]Miles[/name_m]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u]

Middle name will probably be [name_u]Reid[/name_u], but we also like: [name_u]Dexter[/name_u], [name_m]Zane[/name_m], [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_m]Grayson[/name_m]. I love the name [name_m]Miles[/name_m], but DH thinks the S –> Sch transition sounds strange. Thoughts?

I ordinarily wouldn’t be a fan of the s --> S thing, but I think in this situation it would be okay because it’s more like s --> Sh. So they aren’t exactly the same sounds, and they don’t blend together, at least not to my ear.

While I think [name_m]Miles[/name_m] may “fit” a little better with older brother [name_m]Wesley[/name_m]'s name, I prefer [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_u]Reid[/name_u] with your surname. [name_m]Miles[/name_m] Sh-roe-der really does trip up the tongue if you say it often enough. And you and your son [name_m]WILL[/name_m] be saying it out loud for a lifetime.

I agree with this. Either are very handsome.

I would have to agree with what everyone else is saying that [name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_u]Reid[/name_u] sounds a lot better than [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_u]Reid[/name_u] but with the last name [name_m]Miles[/name_m] does not sound the best. [name_m]Both[/name_m] are very nice names that would fit with [name_m]Wesley[/name_m]. Maybe instead of having [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] as a mn idea, you could make it a fn option, [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_u]Reid[/name_u] sh-roe-der sounds really good with [name_m]Wesley[/name_m] [name_m]Eli[/name_m]!
