I just made a post in the girls thread for a sibling name for Reid and Nell.
Here is the boy version, I would appreciate any comments on our list or new suggestions if you have any. We like the four letter, one syllable theme but we don’t have to stick to it. Thank you in advance!
Current ideas:
Beau - pro: stylish, cool name, con: I feel like everyone has a baby named Beau
Boyd - pro: I saw a boy with this name on social media and we both think it’s really cool, con: might be more shocking to some family and friends haha
Crew - pro: my husband loves this name, con: our last name starts with a hard CK sound so I’m more hesitant, plus it seems trendy
Finn - pro: I think this is a really nice name that would work for anyone, con: a lot more popular (we’ve also considered Flynn if anyone likes that better)
Grey - pro: sweet and simple name, con: more unisex, I don’t think of the color as being particularly energetic or fun but I would want his name to be energetic and fun
Joel - pro: traditional, masculine, and I don’t know anyone with a baby named Joel, con: a little dated
Jude - pro: fits our older kids’ names, traditional for me and solidly masculine for my husband, con: more popular, something is holding me back from loving it
Louie - pro: traditional, masculine, I think it would work on anyone, con: doesn’t fit our “theme”
Van - pro: would honor a family member, con: not sure it’s right for us
Wes or Wesley - pro: Wesley has been on our list since before our son was born, we really like the sound and feel, Wesley is a family name on my side, con: Wesley is getting popular and I’ve heard it used in our circles a few times, Wesley doesn’t fit our four letter one syllable theme and I’m not sure on Wes as a full name
Wynn - pro: I think it’s a name a lot of people would find really cool but no one is using, con: more unisex and I don’t want it to sound overconfident like win/winner
Middle name would probably be either Walter, Wallace, Elliott, or James after family. I’ll add that Mack or Max would definitely be high on our list but have already been used by close friends/family.
Your kids have lovely names, and you have some great options on this list!
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites would be [name_u]Beau[/name_u], [name_u]Finn[/name_u] andJude (especially this one!). I think these would all fit in great with your older kids’ names, and you should try not to let popularity deter you if you really decide that one of the names on your list is “the one”.
Also seconding [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], [name_m]Felix[/name_m]. [name_u]Jack[/name_u], [name_u]Rafe[/name_u] and [name_u]Rory[/name_u] from the above user!
I really love [name_u]Wesley[/name_u] , [name_m]Joel[/name_m] and [name_u]Louie[/name_u] for you !!
Would [name_m]Luis[/name_m] work for you , it fits your theme of 4 letters and you could still use , [name_u]Lou[/name_u] / [name_u]Louie[/name_u] as a nickname . [name_u]Reid[/name_u] , [name_f]Nell[/name_f] and [name_m]Luis[/name_m] feel like a solid set !
[name_m]Luis[/name_m] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] gets my vote !
I love [name_u]Finn[/name_u] (like [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] too) & [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. Middle name [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] would be great with both! Also like [name_u]Wesley[/name_u] “Wes”
Would love to add [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] to the list! Same feeling as [name_u]Wynne[/name_u], it’s quiet and cuddly, but no association with “win” or “winner”.
I really like [name_u]Beau[/name_u], [name_m]Boyd[/name_m], [name_u]Wesley[/name_u], and [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] from your list.
[name_m]Boyd[/name_m] seems so unexpected and fun. I wouldn’t worry too much about it be shocking to some, as they will get used to it as they associate it with your baby
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u] may get some comments like “I Wynn” or “I’m a Wynn-er” but I wouldn’t let that hold you back as I don’t think it would make your child sound cocky or overconfident at all. I think it also helps that there is a character named [name_u]Winn[/name_u] on Supergirl that can help to familiarize the name
[name_u]Wesley[/name_u] is so sweet! I wouldn’t worry about it not fitting the 4 letter pattern of your other 2 children, it takes 3 to really solidify the theme so it doesn’t feel out of place. Plus it sounds like you and your husband both really like the name and it has meaning to you
[name_u]Beau[/name_u] is just so simple and lovely. I like it fits nicely with [name_f]Nell[/name_f] and [name_u]Reid[/name_u]. I personally don’t know any babies named [name_u]Beau[/name_u], but if it’s super popular where you live and that is something that would bother you then I’d go with another option
