My husband and I are really struggling with a name for our son to be (due first week of [name_u]June[/name_u]). We currently have it narrowed down to [name_m]Shepard[/name_m] and [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]… but I’m starting to freak out that neither is right. The middle name will be [name_m]Gregory[/name_m] and our Last name is is Lawless… I feel like our last name makes it hard for him not to sound like a cartoon character.
I’ve gotten mixed reviews on [name_m]Shepard[/name_m], and overwhelmingly positive feedback for [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]. I’m nervous [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] is too popular these days, and might be a little much with our last name.
[name_m]Long[/name_m] winded question… a) do you prefer
[name_m]Shepard[/name_m] [name_m]Gregory[/name_m] Lawless or [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] [name_m]Gregory[/name_m] Lawless?
B) do you have ANY other suggestions???
We obviously like non traditional slightly old school sounding names. Nothing super traditional (i.e. [name_m]Joe[/name_m] [name_m]Mike[/name_m] [name_m]Jon[/name_m])
I also prefer [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] to [name_m]Shepard[/name_m]. I think the spelling of [name_m]Shepard[/name_m] vs. [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] makes it less appealing, as well.
We’ve just welcomed a son and named him [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m], nickname [name_m]Mac[/name_m]. It may be a name worth considering for yourselves if you want something known but not trendy. We have only received very positive feedback and I’m grateful for the users on this forum or we never would have considered the name.
[name_m]Desmond[/name_m], [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] or [name_m]Wesley[/name_m] may also be contenders for you.
I personally think [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] and [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] complement each other nicely. [name_m]Desmond[/name_m] and [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] work just as well.
I prefer [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] to [name_m]Shepard[/name_m], especially with that spelling. I agree with your last name is hard to work with! [name_u]Love[/name_u] @viridianrose’s suggestion of [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] - matches [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] well, and also fits with Gr3gory L@wless.
