Boy Names for Girls?

What are your thoughts on Boy names form girls?
Names such as…
[name_u]Wylie[/name_u]
[name_f]Karsyn[/name_f]
[name_u]Easton[/name_u]
[name_u]Chase[/name_u]

As a woman with a unisex name that tips on the masculine side ([name_u]Jordan[/name_u]), I secretly love this. I love the idea of girls named

[name_u]Noah[/name_u]
[name_u]Logan[/name_u]
[name_u]Freddie[/name_u]
[name_m]Griffin[/name_m]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u]

Generally I don’t care for boy names being used on girls - I think there are so many gorgeous girl names that I could never do it myself, and also I don’t like the idea of femininity being a thing to hide (not saying that this is the goal of everyone who likes boy names on girls, but it is for some). The other thing is that it seems to only work in this direction - boy names get used on girls but girl names almost never get used on boys - and something about that turns me off.

There are a few unisex names that I like - [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and [name_u]Sydney[/name_u] come to mind first - but I wouldn’t use them myself for the reasons I explained.

I’ve never liked this trend, but it’s just my opinion. If you are going to do it though, I suggest just using the real spelling of the name (i.e. [name_u]Carson[/name_u] instead of [name_f]Karsyn[/name_f]). I don’t think feminizing the spelling improves the name.

The only unisex names I like okay for girls have been around for a while. [name_u]Riley[/name_u], [name_u]Avery[/name_u], and as pp mentioned, [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and [name_u]Sydney[/name_u].

I like some unisex names.

Some of my favorites are:
[name_u]Dylan[/name_u]
[name_u]Charlie[/name_u]
[name_u]Lyric[/name_u]
[name_u]River[/name_u]
[name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_f]Harlow[/name_f]
[name_u]Eden[/name_u]
[name_u]Avery[/name_u]
[name_u]Sunny[/name_u]/[name_u]Sonny[/name_u]
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u]
[name_u]Sage[/name_u]

One of my biggest pet peeves! Sorry. The only ones I don’t completely detest:

[name_u]Morgan[/name_u]
[name_u]Avery[/name_u]
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u]

Maybe a less frilly name would suit you. [name_m]How[/name_m] about:

[name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Nina[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]

Actually i feel the same about it. It seems like it’s acceptable to give girls boy names to what, make them ‘tough’? cool? like feminity isn’t cool? I know that people just love the names for a sound or meaning, but this subtext is obvious. This is why there aren’t boys with girls names. Because girly = weak, bad, uncool.
