I am a dad myself. Being of [name_m]French[/name_m] ancestry and having studied [name_m]French[/name_m] language and literature, I find myself primarily preferring [name_m]French[/name_m] names, though I know many of my favorites are not realistic options in the US where I live.

My wife also loves [name_m]French[/name_m] names. We named our daughter [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] (a name I suggested). If we were to have another girl, I’d prefer [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Odette[/name_f]. I don’t know which names I would suggest for a son if we were to have another child. [name_u]Jules[/name_u]? [name_m]Pascal[/name_m]? [name_m]French[/name_m] boy names have the misfortune of being seen as “feminine” in American society, which is infuriating.
I don’t like only [name_m]French[/name_m] names, but I do have a strong preference for them.
I am not a fan of made-up names, names that are spelled “creatively,” and hyper-masculine names, e.g., [name_m]Ryder[/name_m], [name_m]Maverick[/name_m], [name_m]Gunner[/name_m], etc.
