Boy names to go with Delmer

I have posted a similar thread before, but I am trying to think of boys names to go with [name]Delmer[/name] nn [name]Del[/name] (my son’s name).
Some names I like are

[name]Everett[/name]
[name]Felix[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name]
[name]Thaddeus[/name]
[name]River[/name]
[name]Lachlan[/name]
[name]Owen[/name]
[name]Bay[/name]
[name]Elliott[/name]
[name]Billy[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name]
[name]Dalton[/name]
[name]Warren[/name]
[name]Leon[/name]
[name]Brooks[/name]
[name]Weston[/name]
[name]Waylon[/name]
[name]Wylie[/name]
Phineus
[name]Do[/name] any of these go? Can you think of any others? Thanks!

[name]Delmer[/name] and [name]Dustin[/name]
[name]Delmer[/name] and [name]Devin[/name]
[name]Delmer[/name] and Raulin
[name]Delmer[/name] and [name]Rowland[/name]

@kenziedey Thank you for responding! I have thought before that his name might sound good with another “D” name so I like your ideas. I also like [name]Rowland[/name]. i think it goes. Thanks!!

I think some of your names are too common to go with [name]Delmer[/name]! I personally dont like same letter names for siblings… just not my thing… but The ones form your list that I think would go ok ( and that I like)are…

[name]Thaddeus[/name] … [name]Del[/name] and [name]Tad[/name]
[name]Weston[/name] … [name]Del[/name] and [name]West[/name]

Other suggestions that I think would sound good with [name]Delmer[/name] are…

[name]Watson[/name] nn Wat
[name]Murphy[/name] nn Murph
[name]Ronan[/name]/Rownan nn Row
[name]Hudson[/name] nn Hud?
[name]Finnian[/name] nn [name]Fin[/name]
[name]Abbott[/name] nn [name]Abe[/name]
[name]Miller[/name] nn Mill

@backtomyroots Thank you! I agree with you… it is hard for me to find a name that is equal on the popularity charts. [name]Delmer[/name] was named after his Great Grandpa and now I don’t know what to do for another boy. I am still trying to figure out if I like the same letters at the beginning of the names, definitely not for the whole sibset!

I like [name]Watson[/name], I have never thought of that one before.
[name]Finnian[/name] is another one on my list so I am glad you suggested it!
**I really like [name]Abbott[/name] and I like [name]Abe[/name] too
I think Rownan could definitely work too
I like [name]Murphy[/name] as well, I don’t know if [name]Delmer[/name] and [name]Murphy[/name] are too matching with the “mer” sound, but it is kind of fun to say together
My friend is considering [name]Hudson[/name] for their boy
I am not sure of [name]Miller[/name] just because I know a lot of people with the last name. It’s a good suggestion though!
Thank you!!

I like [name]Waylon[/name] or [name]Wiley[/name] for [name]Delmer[/name]'s brother. Maybe [name]Willis[/name]?

@southern.maple Thank you for your input! I can’t help but liking names that start with a “W”. I have never thought of [name]Willis[/name] before and i like it because my dad’s name is [name]William[/name]. I have been wanting to honor him in some way. Thanks!

I love many of your names, but I’m not sure they go with [name]Delmer[/name]. [name]Felix[/name], [name]Dashiell[/name] and Phineus are superb choices…just not sure about with [name]Delmer[/name].

[name]Theodore[/name], [name]Warren[/name] and [name]Owen[/name] I think “go” best as a sibset with [name]Delmer[/name].

What about:

[name]Winston[/name]
[name]Huxley[/name]
[name]Sawyer[/name]
[name]Jameson[/name] ( nn [name]Jamie[/name])
[name]Harrison[/name] ( nn [name]Harry[/name])
[name]Henry[/name]
[name]Emmett[/name] goes a bit better than [name]Everett[/name]

Good luck!

My favorites from your list with [name]Delmer[/name]/[name]Del[/name] are [name]Thaddeus[/name] (nn [name]Tad[/name]/[name]Thad[/name]), [name]Waylon[/name], and [name]Phinneas[/name] (nn [name]Finn[/name]).

**[name]Willoughby[/name] is my absolute favorite! I would have never thought of that before. I am not sure if I would use it or if my husband would approve. But the more think of it, it grows on me. I like the simple nickname [name]Will[/name] too (after my dad). [name]Do[/name] you think [name]Willoughby[/name] is to out there? Or is it usable? Thanks!

@lori johnson

Thank you for your ideas! I love how the book has “porch sitter” names. Especially since [name]Delmer[/name] was named after a banjo/fiddle playing porch sitter.

I am glad that you recommend [name]Leon[/name] because I like it a lot.

My favorites you listed are
[name]Morris[/name] (I also like [name]Morrisey[/name]. [name]Do[/name] you think that would work?)
[name]Orville[/name]
[name]Otis[/name]
[name]Rufus[/name]
[name]Bertram[/name]
[name]Sherwood[/name]

Thank you all!!! I am happy to add names to my list! I am not expecting yet…but when I am I will be ready (with your help)

I like [name]Owen[/name] and [name]Elliott[/name] to go with [name]Del[/name] or [name]Delmer[/name]. Good luck!

@lbinnz Thank you for your opinion! My husband really likes [name]Elliott[/name] so I am glad that you think they go well together.

I like [name]Delmer[/name] and [name]Thaddius[/name], [name]Delmer[/name] and [name]Elliott[/name] and [name]Delmer[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name] best!

My suggestions are(sorry for any repeats):

[name]Delmer[/name] and Truett

[name]Delmer[/name] and [name]Augustus[/name] ([name]August[/name] or [name]Augie[/name])

[name]Delmer[/name] and [name]Graham[/name]

[name]Delmer[/name] and [name]Asa[/name]

[name]Delmer[/name] and [name]Archer[/name]

[name]Delmer[/name] and [name]Eamon[/name]

[name]Delmer[/name] and [name]Tiernan[/name]

[name]Delmer[/name] and [name]Maverick[/name] ([name]Mack[/name])

[name]Delmer[/name] and [name]Sebastian[/name]

[name]Delmer[/name] and [name]Perry[/name]

[name]Delmer[/name] and [name]Bennett[/name]

Thank you for the suggestions!!
I guess I should have mentioned that I have a daughter too. Her name is [name]June[/name]. For some reason I always pair the boy and girls names on separate lists and then see which ones fit with all of them.

momof374 I love [name]Augustus[/name]. Since I have a [name]June[/name] I don’t think i can use it, but I secretly hope that someone I know will use it!

My favorite is [name]Dashiell[/name] nn [name]Dash[/name]. Great name!

[name]Elwood[/name] was my grandpa and great-grandpa, same style as [name]Delmer[/name]. Could use the nn [name]Woody[/name].

I am IN [name]LOVE[/name] with the name [name]Elwood[/name]! I have never met anyone with the name and I spotted it on my family tree a ways back. My husband doesn’t care for it much, so I kind of forgot about it… but maybe he will change his mind. [name]Do[/name] you think the “el” sound is too similar to “[name]Del[/name]”? I don’t think it is a big problem but I worry he might be called “[name]El[/name]”.

Oh my goodness, you have a [name]Delmer[/name] and a [name]June[/name]?? I can’t imagine a more charmingly down home pair (and I mean that as a compliment)!

I still stand by my suggestion of [name]Willis[/name]. [name]Clarence[/name], [name]Otis[/name], and [name]Roy[/name] also came to mind. [name]Elwood[/name] would be a great fit with [name]Delmer[/name] and [name]June[/name], although the [name]El[/name]/[name]Del[/name] thing does bother me a little. Does [name]Norwood[/name] appeal?
