So, two names that I stupidly forgot to add to my long list (by long, I mean 165 possible girl FN/MN combos, and 90 possible boy ones…) are Tiereney/[name_u]Tierney[/name_u], and [name_u]Teagan[/name_u]. Which gender do you prefer each name on, and why? Also, some MN ideas would be fabulous
but [name_u]Tierney[/name_u] I love for a girl b/c I think of [name_u]Gene[/name_u] [name_u]Tierney[/name_u]. Could be nice on a guy too. [name_u]Tiernan[/name_u] is nice for a male.
[name_u]Teagan[/name_u] — I don’t know which gender, just that I prefer [name_u]Tierney[/name_u] or [name_u]Tiernan[/name_u].
The spelling Tiereney emphasizes the word “tyranny” even more so I would stick with the original spelling of [name_u]Tierney[/name_u]. Technically, all surnames should be defined as unisex but of course sound, spelling and life experiences influence one’s perceptions. Personally, [name_u]Tierney[/name_u] is normally a girls name and [name_u]Tiernan[/name_u] for a boy. [name_u]Teagan[/name_u] is a girl name and [name_m]Teague[/name_m] or [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m] (tyg) are boys.
[name_u]Tierney[/name_u] & [name_u]Teagan[/name_u] both strike me as “girl” names. I think they’re more feminine than they are masculine, and I’m really not able to envision a male having either of these names, even though I know they’re considered unisex.
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_u]Tierney[/name_u]! I have always thought of it as a girls’ name. [name_u]Tierney[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is one of my favorite combos for it.
[name_u]Teagan[/name_u] I associate more as a girls’ name as well, but can still easily see it being used on either gender. Not really a fan of -egan names (ie. [name_u]Reagan[/name_u], [name_f]Megan[/name_f], [name_u]Keegan[/name_u], etc.) in general, so I’m really no help with combos there.
I also agree with a previous poster who said [name_m]Teague[/name_m] and [name_u]Tiernan[/name_u] are more masculine and [name_u]Tierney[/name_u] and [name_u]Teagan[/name_u] are more feminine. ([name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_m]Teague[/name_m] and [name_u]Tiernan[/name_u], too.)
I have to say girl for both, because I know people by those names and they are both girls. I think I could see [name_u]Tierney[/name_u] on a boy too, though. So actually, I’ll go [name_u]Tierney[/name_u] for boy, [name_u]Teagan[/name_u] for girl.
I really don’t like [name_u]Tierney[/name_u], but I think it’s a feminine sounding name. However I do [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_u]Teagan[/name_u], and I definitely see that for a girl.
