Is Hennessy used for a boy or girl? And do you think it is a good name to use for either gender or in general?

Hennessy is the name of a cognac/brandy and in my opinion it shouldn’t be used as a child’s name.
yeah, it’s right in the mix with the other rap names: [name]Chanel[/name], [name]Lexus[/name], [name]Armani[/name], [name]Cristal[/name], Hennessy… Stay away.
Technically, I suppose it would fall under the surname category, which would make it appropriate for a girl or a boy. But I agree with pps. All I think of is the cognac brand – doesn’t seem like a great choice unless that drink has special meaning to you or something.
Thank you, hearing other opinions is always a nice thing. Now that you have said it it definitely makes me re-think using that name. It doesn’t have meaning to me just liked the way it sounded. Maybe better as a pets name.
Good call. For a pet, could be fine. For a human, it’d be like naming them Whiskey, Bacardi, or Cognac or something in that vein.
If you just like the sound, I do think Genesee (nn [name]Genny[/name]) has potential as a cute name for a girl.
Yeah, makes me think of the Spanish pronunciation of [name]Genesis[/name]. It’s also a surname, but definitely goes best on a Girl.
