So we’ve got 4 kids, and they turn out to be very opinionated about naming their baby-brother-to-be. We also have our own opinions. We’ve come up with a compromise that’s kinda long, but I think everyone can agree.
It is:
[name]Joseph[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name] [name]Justice[/name] [name]Johnson[/name].
Please don’t tell me you hate the name – we’ve already got too many cooks stirring this soup! But I would love to hear:
if you HAD to have someone with this name in YOUR family, which of the 5000 possible nicknames would you like best?
I can think of the following, but there may be more:
[name]Joe[/name]
[name]Joey[/name]
[name]Nat[/name]
[name]Nate[/name]
[name]Nathan[/name]
[name]Jay[/name]
And then of course there is always the possibility of using any one of the names in its full version
[name]Joseph[/name]
[name]Nathaniel[/name]
[name]Justice[/name]
So it seems like, even if the poor kid grows up and doesn’t like the WHOLE name, he’ll be able to make something he DOES like out of it, no?
But what would you call him from birth to whatever age he needs to be to have his own opinion?
Thanks!
You’ve written out [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name] [name]Justice[/name] [name]Johnson[/name] and have [name]Joseph[/name] as the FN? If he were to write soley his FN and LN on a piece of paper would he be [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Johnson[/name], [name]Nathaniel[/name] [name]Johnson[/name] or [name]Justice[/name] [name]Johnson[/name]?
I love the sound of [name]Nathaniel[/name] [name]Johnson[/name]! [name]Nate[/name] [name]Johnson[/name] is pretty cool too.
However, the full combo [name]Nathaniel[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Justice[/name] [name]Johnson[/name] is a mouthful and it does sound much better with [name]Joseph[/name] as the FN.
If he were [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Johnson[/name], [name]Joe[/name] or [name]Joey[/name] would be the obvious ones. He could also go by [name]JoJo[/name] as a baby/toddler - the first 2 letters of his first name and last name.
I think if you had it the way round you do [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name], he could go go [name]Jonah[/name] too, which is awesome but a little complicated considering he’ll already have 3 names!
I like it! And it’s great that it has meaning for your family and that everyone seems happy. I personally like [name]Joe[/name]/[name]Joey[/name], but I think [name]Joss[/name] could work, too, and I love @sheflieswithherownwings idea of [name]Jonah[/name] for a nn! It nicely incorporates both [name]Joseph[/name] and [name]Nathaniel[/name]… Otherwise, I would opt for [name]Joey[/name]/[name]Joe[/name], personally. JJ would be cute, too, but with [name]Joseph[/name], [name]Justice[/name], and the ln [name]Johnson[/name], JJ [name]Johnson[/name] might be a bit much, haha.
Good luck!
My favorite name out of those is [name]Nathaniel[/name]. I like [name]Nate[/name] the most as a nn. Also like [name]Nathan[/name] or [name]Niel[/name] (maybe when he’s older?). But I agree with the PP that said the combo doesn’t work well with [name]Nathaniel[/name] as the first name.
With [name]Joseph[/name] as the first name, I like [name]Joey[/name] as a nn while younger, maybe [name]Joe[/name] as he gets older. I also liked PP’s suggestions of [name]JoJo[/name] or JJ.
Aww how cute! We are expecting number 5 & 6 soon
Our little ones are still young and don’t care to much about names but we want to have them help us pick what sounds the nicest! I think that it is so cute that they got to help you pick the name
I think if [name]Joseph[/name] is going to be the FN that you should use a NN for that. I would go with [name]Joey[/name]/[name]Joe[/name] maybe [name]Joey[/name] while he is younger and drop down to [name]Joe[/name] when he is a little older.
