I grew up next door to an old man named [name_f]Happy[/name_f]. Is this a nickname short for [name_m]Humphrey[/name_m]? Anyone know? I have a surprise/miracle baby on his way in [name_f]October[/name_f], and I’m leaving no stone unturned! We have no more boys’ names we like! Our first son is [name_m]Hugh[/name_m].
I think [name_f]Happy[/name_f] is just a word name. You can make it a short form of something, but that’s not what it is originally.
Ummm, I don’t like [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] and [name_f]Happy[/name_f] together as it looks like you only have one happy child. Some suggestions that would be nice [name_m]Hugh[/name_m]…
[name_m]Milo[/name_m]
[name_m]Harris[/name_m]
[name_u]Max[/name_u]/[name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]
[name_m]Clarke[/name_m]
[name_m]Samuel[/name_m]
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m]
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
I went to school with two people named [name_f]Happy[/name_f]. It wasn’t short for anything.
It might not be a short form of his name. It’s quite possible people started calling him that because of his cheery disposition or something like that.
But if you wanted to still honour him, you could always name your kid something like “[name_m]Felix[/name_m]”. Which means happy. I think [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] and [name_m]Felix[/name_m] would go together.
100% this.
