one of my friends wants to name her daughter [name]Jacob[/name] because she thinks it sounds cool on a girl. Keep in mind she is 14 opinions and do you know any bad ones?
I am fourteen as well, and I don’t think that your friend will really name her future daughter [name]Jacob[/name]. Before I came on name message boards when I was eleven, my favorite combo was Ambition Defiance. On a girl. I’m not kidding. Now that I’ve come to my senses, I’m sure your friend will, too, eventually. (I also really liked masculine names on boys- though mostly the more feminine ones like [name]Luca[/name] and [name]Micah[/name]. Now, I only have [name]Ezra[/name] for a girl on my guilty pleasure list).
I have friend who likes Onyxx-[name]Rose[/name] (With the double ‘x’); another who wants a boy and a girl and name them [name]Junior[/name] and Kandis. You can’t read much into what teens think about baby names, unless they know that [name]James[/name] is actually a form of [name]Jacob[/name]. (These same people laugh at my favorites by the way, which I find ironic that you’d consider naming a child Kandis but ridicule [name]Cordelia[/name]).
I do know girls named [name]Hunter[/name], [name]Warren[/name] and [name]Cooper[/name]. [name]Warren[/name] is a family name, but I honestly think it would have been better suited for the middle slot (though [name]Ren[/name]/Renni is a cute nickname).
But now that I’m thinking about it, [name]Jacob[/name] kind of seems cool on a girl- IF it wasn’t one of the most used boys’ names of the last decade. [name]Even[/name] if it wasn’t even in the top 1000 for boys, it probably is still too masculine for me. And heavens no if someone tried to ‘feminize’ it by spelling [name]Jacob[/name] Jaykib- I can totally see that.
I’ve never been a fan of using boys names on girls. To each their own, I suppose.
bumping up
I know a [name]Wallace[/name]-[name]Ann[/name]…not really my style, but whatever floats your boat, I suppose.
For me the names I liked when I was 14 were nothing close to my favorites now. No matter how much you think you already know what you want, that will change. I was the same way.
I strongly dislike [name]Jacob[/name] for a girl. I dislike most boy names on girls. There are a few exceptions, but any that are as popular as [name]Jacob[/name] would definitely be out.
Seriously? Why? Why bring this argument up AGAIN? I think the boys’-names-on-girls horse has been officially beaten to death. [name]Just[/name] let it rest in peace.
Sorry but some people don’t want to look through about ten threads and I was also asking if anyone knew any bad unisex names. Sorry for ruining your day.
