Boys place names?

What are some place names that you have or have considered naming your boys?

[name]Everest[/name].

[name]Scott[/name] (a bit of a stretch that one)
Eden (in the UK it’s usable on a boy anyway just like Brooklyn)

[name]Milan[/name] is one I’ve been thinking about a lot lately… except not pronounced like the city.

My favourite is [name]Berlin[/name].
I also really love [name]Dublin[/name] and [name]Camden[/name].
Other place names I like are [name]Aragon[/name], [name]Aspen[/name], [name]Charleston[/name], [name]Denver[/name], [name]Everest[/name], [name]Holland[/name], [name]Nile[/name], [name]Rome[/name], [name]Senegal[/name], [name]Trenton[/name] and [name]York[/name].

I was wondering about [name]Milan[/name] too and got put off by the girl’s name listing as I thought I had a few too many of those already. It seems strange to me that so many place names are considered girl’s names rather than unisex.

[name]Milan[/name] sounds girly to me…plus that disney movie that girl was named [name]Milan[/name]…

I love [name]Kingston[/name]…that’s great

[name]Milan[/name] is a rare name; I wouldn’t immediately put it to one gender or the other.

EDIT: Oops, just looked at its status in the top 1000. Guess it’s not that rare. But since it’s been in the top 1000 for a boy, I think it’s possible for a boy as well as a girl.

Are you thinking of Mulan?

[name]Milan[/name] as a Slavic name isn’t related to the city’s name. I don’t think [name]Milan[/name] is feminine at all, and I’m with you- I think it’s strange how many place names are considered female-only.
I still think [name]Milan[/name] is really handsome. I watch a lot of hockey and there’s a handful of guys in the NHL named [name]Milan[/name]… not girly at all to me.

[name]Milton[/name] (as in [name]Milton[/name] Keynes)
[name]Reading[/name] (prn [name]Red[/name]-ing or [name]Redding[/name], not reeding)
[name]Cheyenne[/name] (is occasionally used for boys)

I have a [name]Caspian[/name]. We picked it because of C.S. [name]Lewis[/name] but it is also the name of the [name]Caspian[/name] Sea.

[name]Devon[/name] and [name]Preston[/name] and [name]Milton[/name] are good calls. I suspect [name]Bristol[/name] is more perceived as female now because of [name]Bristol[/name] [name]Palin[/name].

Other thoughts:

[name]Brighton[/name] (although I’ve mostly seen this on girls too)

[name]Dallas[/name], [name]Denver[/name] and [name]Davis[/name] are names on our long list

And [name]Kimberly[/name].

[name]Jackson[/name] -although its too popular to use now

I’ve liked the name [name]Jackson[/name] for many years. Also, I was a nanny to a beautiful & brilliant toddler boy named [name]Austin[/name] (nn: ‘[name]Oz[/name]’, ‘Aus’, Aussie) and I’ve had an affinity for the name since. I adore the nicknames for [name]Austin[/name] as well, they are so fun to use [name]IMO[/name]!

I really love [name]Dakota[/name] but not sure if people in the UK would immediately think of [name]Dakota[/name] Fanning!

[name]How[/name] about…
[name]Brighton[/name] (place in the UK, think it sounds like a cool name!)

[name]Shiloh[/name] - I like it for a boy
[name]Jericho[/name] - But I have a cousin by this name already

My son’s name is [name]Kyle[/name] - a place in [name]Scotland[/name], and popular in [name]Ireland[/name].
