Brainstorming for a girl

While DH and I are not pregnant yet, I am 100% a name nerd and since I can’t write my future name in a notebook anymore theoretical baby names seems like the next best thing.

We love [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] for a girl. The seamlessly unending nicknames and classic, yet spunky vibe are a thing we both love and there’s a bit of meaning behind it as wel. My name and my mothers both start with K, and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] was one of the first albums we bought together for our record player.

If we have a boy we want to incorporate [name_m]Edward[/name_m] and [name_m]Alan[/name_m]/[name_m]Allen[/name_m] somehow as [name_m]Allen[/name_m]:[name_m]Alan[/name_m] is my dad, grandpa, brother, and husbands middle name. [name_m]Edward[/name_m] is my husbands grandfather and fathers name, and his brothers middle. We have a few boy ideas (but are open to suggestions even though this is a girls thread). I was wondering what you all think of Edley [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or Edley [name_f]Alice[/name_f] if we ended up having 2 girls? We know we want to max out at 2 kiddos, and I’d hate to not pass on the names [name_m]Edward[/name_m] and [name_m]Alan[/name_m] and all the ties to our family just because we had a girl. I think the idea of an Edley nn [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] is darling and even [name_m]Eddie[/name_m] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] appeals to me which I know is kind of a strange combo. DH’s dad was nn [name_m]Eddie[/name_m] when he was a babe and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is the birth flower for my brother and dad, both born in [name_u]June[/name_u].

I know this isn’t a straight up help post, but I figured you all might find it s bit fun with it’s strange criteria!
[name_f]Happy[/name_f] name hunting and thanks in advance!

Normally, Edley [name_f]Rose[/name_f]/Edley [name_f]Alice[/name_f] would be a bit off for me, but int his instance, they both seem very sweet. I’m not 100% sold on them with [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] though. I think honouring family (if you want to do it) should trump the idea of how well a sibset works though.

I’d suggest maybe [name_f]Edeline[/name_f], [name_f]Edith[/name_f], Edelia, [name_u]Eden[/name_u] or [name_f]Edyta[/name_f] as well.

I agree with leafsgirl44. Edley has a very different style to [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]. What about [name_f]Edna[/name_f] or [name_f]Enid[/name_f]?

Edley [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is okay, but I’m not loving it. And it’s such a different name to [name_f]Margaret[/name_f].

What about [name_f]Edwina[/name_f] or [name_f]Edith[/name_f] with nn [name_m]Eddie[/name_m] or [name_f]Edie[/name_f]? You don’t see [name_f]Edwina[/name_f] much but I think it’s good and the nns are great. I love [name_f]Edith[/name_f]. Or [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] with nn [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] would work as a reference to an [name_m]Edward[/name_m]. I’d use [name_f]Alice[/name_f] with all of them: [name_f]Edwina[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] or [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f].

Another name you could use is [name_f]Alana[/name_f]/Alarna/[name_f]Alannah[/name_f].

To clip your names, maybe [name_f]Alana[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_f]Edie[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f]?

Otherwise [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Alannah[/name_f]?
