Brannon and Brennan?

Hello Nameberry. Great to be here with fellow name lover. I am having twin boys in [name_f]May[/name_f] 2021. my boyfriend and I have agreed on [name_u]Brennan[/name_u] as a definite for one of the twins. However, we cant seem to agree on a name for the other little guy. I suggested [name_m]Brannon[/name_m] or [name_m]Brandon[/name_m] but he thinks theyare too similar to [name_u]Brennan[/name_u]. What do you think? Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated.

Sorry, I do think they’re too similar!

Brennan is way too similar to [name_m]Brannon[/name_m] for me. They could be confused for the same name. Some suggestions you may like:
[name_u]Brayden[/name_u]
[name_m]Bryson[/name_m]
[name_u]Blaine[/name_u]
[name_m]Colson[/name_m]

They are both very similar especially [name_m]Brannon[/name_m]. Maybe if you want the matchiness go for

the N ending:
[name_m]Collin[/name_m]
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m]
[name_u]Keagan[/name_u]
[name_u]Cameron[/name_u]
[name_m]Edwin[/name_m]
[name_u]Jackson[/name_u]
[name_u]Aiden[/name_u]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u]
[name_u]Grayson[/name_u]
[name_u]Hudson[/name_u]
[name_u]Lincoln[/name_u]

Or something starting with a B:
[name_m]Brody[/name_m]
[name_u]Beckett[/name_u]
[name_u]Bentley[/name_u]
[name_u]Blair[/name_u]

I would definitely stay away from any name starting with an Br and ending in an n. I think the only possible name I can think of starting with a B and ending in N that could work would be [name_m]Bowen[/name_m]

Brennan is also considered Unisex so going for another Unisex name could be another way to find a sibset match.

If in the US, definitely [name_u]Brennan[/name_u]. [name_m]Brannon[/name_m] sounds close to that whacko [name_m]Bannon[/name_m].

I think one or the other is best.

I think [name_u]Brennan[/name_u] is fresher, at least where I live.

Thank you all for your wonderful suggestions and advice. I’m really glad to have gotten a response from so many people with so many ideas.
Indeed, I was trying to go for matching names (because just OCD like that) but the more thinking I’ve done, the more I’ve realized that they deserve to have individualized names that aren’t thrown together just because they match.

I wrote down each suggestion you guys gave me and showed it to my boyfriend. He decided that he prefers names ending with -er and so we shortened the list. We finally decided that our twins will be [name_m]Brennen[/name_m] [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] (undecided Korean name here) [name_u]Kim[/name_u] and [name_u]Archer[/name_u] [name_u]Maxwell[/name_u] (another undecided Korean name here) [name_u]Kim[/name_u]. Thank you again for your help, everyone. :green_heart:

Thank you! It took 3 hours for us to agree on anything. Lol

I had no idea that [name_u]Brennan[/name_u] is a unisex name. I assumed [name_f]Brenna[/name_f] or [name_f]Brenda[/name_f] were the feminine form and [name_u]Brennan[/name_u] or [name_m]Brendan[/name_m] were for boys. Learn something new everyday!
