I have always loved the name [name_m]Egidius[/name_m] (i’m orginally Dutch but live in [name_f]Ireland[/name_f])
I think the English pronunciation would be eee-KIE-di-us or ee-DGIE-di-us
I’m now pregnant with my third son (first two boys and girl all have uncommon medieval names too)
Is [name_m]Egidius[/name_m] a unique brave name or should I put it out of my head?
Oh small addition: Nickname would be [name_u]Gus[/name_u], but just for at home and stuff. He will be registered at school as [name_m]Egidius[/name_m].
I would like to hear your other children’s names just to see how they flow together and just for curiosity sake.
Personally, for me, it is a lot but I am from [name_u]America[/name_u] so considering some of the ridiculously hard to pronounce Irish names I think it would be perfectly fine especially if he had a nn to go by if he wished.
I’d say it’s more of a GP. I agree with pp, it’s a better middle. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if it is his middle name, you could still call him [name_u]Gus[/name_u].
