Braxton?

Thinking of using this to honor my brother [name]Brock[/name]. Your opinion?

I don’t think its usable because all I think of are [name]Braxton[/name] Hicks, which I don’t think are a very good association!

I agree completely! I think [name]Paxton[/name], [name]Brody[/name], [name]Broderick[/name], etc., are all more attractive options, although [name]Broderick[/name] is the only one that would seem to honor your brother like [name]Braxton[/name] would. Sorry.

Sorry, I recently heard of an acquaintance naming her baby [name]Braxton[/name], and was completely turned off because of the contraction association…[name]Love[/name] pp’s suggestion of [name]Broderick[/name], though!

My cousin named her baby [name]Braxton[/name]. Its not horrbile but honestly who doesn’t think of hicks after it? (Sorry dont me to be mean) [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Broderick[/name].

Thank you for the honest answers! I had seriously never heard of that before.

Maybe you could honor him by picking a “Br” name?

[name]Brent[/name]
[name]Brady[/name]
[name]Brandon[/name]
[name]Branson[/name]
[name]Brett[/name]
[name]Britton[/name]
[name]Brice[/name]

I hate the name [name]Braxton[/name]. I think of [name]Braxton[/name] Hicks and the fact that it’s one of the ‘trendy’ names that most teen moms seem to be favoring these days. I also don’t think it ages well at all. I couldn’t picture [name]Braxton[/name] on anyone over the age of 5. I’m really sorry for coming off as what probably seems quite rude, but it’s just my honest opinion.

I think [name]Ash[/name] pretty much nailed it with [name]Broderick[/name]! Or maybe [name]Brock[/name] as a mn? Whatever you choose (including [name]Braxton[/name] :p) I wish you good luck and congrats! And again, sorry for probably coming off as the rudest person ever! [name]Just[/name] trying to give you a random strangers honest opinion on the name!

[name]Braxton[/name] is a very old family name for me, and growing up I always thought I’d use it as a mn. However, I’ve heard a few baby [name]Braxton[/name]'s out and about recently, so I assume that means its gone up a bit in the charts and isn’t as unusual as I thought! Saying that though, I still like the name, and really like the nn Brax.

Its nms, but I like that it honour’s family, so in your case I quite like it. Brax is a cool nn.

I actually like it (and thought it was a cute association if mom had a lot of [name]Braxton[/name] Hicks contractions).

I’m sorry nut I agree completely with the pp’s, all I think of is [name]Braxton[/name] Hicks!! Not a nice association. [name]Broderick[/name] is cute though and has possible nn’s such as [name]Brodie[/name]/[name]Brock[/name]/Brockie/[name]Rick[/name]… Honours your brother perfectly!
