I put unisex but I’m surprised so many people said girl, since to me it looks like a play on [name_m]Brian[/name_m].

Girl, I can’t picture it on a boy.

All I can think of is Sleeping Beauty ([name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]) so I can only see this as a girl.

It’s a plant. It’s unisex.

[name_f]Briar[/name_f] is such a handsome name. I like it for both but it’s higher on my boy list (I chose unisex)

I immediately think of [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] (Sleeping Beauty) so I just think girl.

Neither…

I know Sleeping Beauty’s name is [name_f]Briar[/name_f], but it sounds so masculine to me. I chose boy. I don’t like it on a girl at all.

Techinically unisex, it’s a plant, however, you don’t see boy’s named [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], etc… so I voted girl because I think of Sleeping Beauty and boy’s don’t have floral names…

All girl to me. All I can think of is Sleeping Beauty.

I’ve never heard of [name_f]Briar[/name_f]. Upon first look it looks male to me.

I’d say boy, but the Sleeping Beauty association juuuuust pushes it into girl territory for me.

Leads on to [name_f]Briar[/name_f]-[name_f]Rose[/name_f], aka Sleeping Beauty so definitely a girls name for me.

I voted girl as well since the only relation i could make was also to Sleeping Beauty.

It’s all boy to me because of the book series Circle of [name_u]Magic[/name_u] by the lovely [name_f]Tamora[/name_f] [name_m]Pierce[/name_m]

As a first, I’d say girl. In terms of middle I’d say unisex.

It COULD be unisex, but I love it for a girl. [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]/[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]/Sleeping Beauty

In an ideal world, [name_f]Briar[/name_f] should be unisex so that’s how I voted! Hey, a girl can dream, can’t she?

My preference: boy (I find the sound of this nature name really harsh and masculine)
Reality: girl (even though it’s a name as far removed from fairy tales or Sleeping Beauty as I can imagine, it’s used more often for girls due to that association).

I love it for a boy! I wrote a story back in high school featuring a male elf named [name_f]Briar[/name_f]. I can see it on a girl, too, though. But it’s certainly not only a girl’s name!
