I’ve been crushing on the nn [name]Bridie[/name] off and on since I first heard it suggested on here as a nn for [name]Bridget[/name]… and I would love to find a full name I could use it for! Can you think of anything?
My problem? I don’t like [name]Bridget[/name]. I don’t dislike it, but it just doesn’t have a spark to me. I don’t really like it’s variants, either. I did a name search on Nameberry for names containing “brid” but I really didn’t come up with anything other than [name]Bridget[/name] variants…
I love [name]Bridie[/name], but I can’t think of anything other than [name]Bridget[/name] to pull it from. Can it stand alone? With so many full names ending in “ie”, I can’t see why it wouldn’t work on its own.
Mmm. It might work for some, but I don’t think just [name]Bridie[/name] fits on its own in my list! Most of my FNs are long and much more formal, not cutesy at all, imo–[name]Isabelle[/name], [name]Arianne[/name], [name]Olivia[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Violet[/name], [name]Rachel[/name], [name]Daphne[/name], [name]Eleni[/name], [name]Hannah[/name], [name]Serena[/name], [name]Eliska[/name], [name]Adele[/name], etc. I just can’t see just [name]Bridie[/name] fitting in with those.
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Bridie[/name] and would use [name]Bryony[/name]/[name]Briony[/name] as a Full name.
could also use [name]Aubrey[/name], [name]Brittany[/name] as they’ve a roundabout [name]Bri[/name]- sound also.
[name]Bridie[/name] has never been my style but that is mostly because I love [name]Bridget[/name] and hate seeing it shortened. I think it could be a cute nn though with your other NNs. What about [name]Bernadette[/name]? I have suggested it before but I don’t recall you opinions on it lol. [name]Bristol[/name] would work to and you could use [name]Bridie[/name] and [name]Tillie[/name] There is also [name]Bride[/name] (pronounced [name]Bree[/name]-duh) and [name]Brigitta[/name] (which I have a total crush on and would sound great with your other names [name]IMO[/name]) They are variations of [name]Bridget[/name] but they both seem pretty distant to me.
I love [name]Bryony[/name]! I’m actually considering adding it to my list, but for some reason I much prefer Bry (like BRYE, not [name]Bree[/name]…). I think I am actually going to drop [name]Bridie[/name]–I like it but don’t love it as much as some of my other options, and I don’t really love any of the fuller ways to get it.
@dillonsfan01 - I actually really hate [name]Bernadette[/name] and [name]Bristol[/name], haha. I used to like [name]Bristol[/name], but with the [name]Palin[/name] thing, it just seems so trendy and, well… I’ve obviously been talking to too many people in the UK, haha, but it just seems so chavvy to me. There’s really no other word for it, haha.
I want to keep saying Birdy, and I don’t think it’s a pleasing sound either way.
